A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in honor and loving memory of C.A. "Ottie" Pantle, Jr.
WHEREAS, Ottie Pantle, Jr., was born in Owensboro and graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1961. A longtime resident of Daviess County, he was a skilled and dedicated farmer who represented the best of this Commonwealth's vibrant agricultural community; and
WHEREAS, Ottie Pantle, Jr., was the recipient of the 2001 University of Kentucky Thomas Poe Cooper Award for distinguished farm leadership, the Kentucky Gamma Sigma Outstanding Alumni Award, the Kentucky Farm Bureau Distinguished Service Award, the Kentucky Association of County Agricultural Agents Excellence in Agriculture Award, the Soil Conservation Districts of Kentucky Honor Award, the Kentucky Vegetable Growers C.R. Roberts Award, the Distinguished Service Award from the Daviess County Conservation District Board, the Daviess County Beef Cattle Founders Award, the Kentucky State FFA Star Farmer Award, the Courier-Journal's Outstanding FFA Farmer of the Year, and the Outstanding Young Farmers Award; and
WHEREAS, Ottie Pantle, Jr., was a member of the Daviess County Conservation District board, the Kentucky Cattlemen board, the Daviess County Agricultural Development Council, the Kentucky Pork Producers board, and the Kentucky State Farm Service Agency board. He was the Kentucky Horticultural president, the Daviess County Lions Club president for two years, the Kentucky Vegetable Growers Association president for two years, four-time chair of the Daviess County Adjustment Board, and the president of the Daviess County Farm Bureau several times; and
WHEREAS, Ottie Pantle, Jr., was a devoted member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church; and
WHEREAS, Ottie Pantle, Jr., departed this earthly life on January 19, 2014, leaving his family, friends, and an entire community in solemn mourning; and
WHEREAS, Ottie Pantle, Jr., was preceded in death by his parents, Christian Adam Pantle and Edith Burton Pantle. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jane Clark Pantle; his children, Jane Hunter Julian and her husband, Bret, and Chris A. Pantle III; and his grandchildren, Hunter Anne Julian, and Adam Julian;
NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:
Section 1. The members of the House of Representatives hereby express their most profound sense of sorrow and proffer their sincerest condolences to the family, friends, and community of C.A. "Ottie" Pantle, Jr.
Section2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving memory of C.A. "Ottie" Pantle, Jr.
Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mrs. Jane Pantle, 1641 Wrights Landing Road, Owensboro, Kentucky 42303.
