A one day conference for practitioners working with vulnerable and ‘at risk’ young people

This free conference, provided by PENDAP & Youth Services, responds to service provider feedback about the complexity of working with young people facing multiple issues – alcohol and other drugs, mental health, at risk behaviours, family violence and family issues. It brings a range of practitioners together to discuss how we can improve our response to young people, particularly where there are protective concerns.

Speaker:

Speakers include highly regarded professionals across alcohol and drug, child protection, mental health, adolescent violence in the home and a consumer.

The afternoon session includes a panel of professionals to discuss case studies and explore with participants how services can work towards greater integration and collaboration.

Lunch and refreshments are provided.

Conference topics and speakers include:

  • Robyn Miller –Improving our response to risk and safety
  • Stephen Bright – Not For Human Consumption: Plant food, bath salts, incense, the internet and young people
  • Alex Savage – Responding to risk in young people with mental health issues

  • Launch of UTube clip “Skating on Thin Ice”
