A Note from our Pastor

Leadership can be seen in the church on many levels. Few ever get pulpit attention. They are the vast majority of disciples who quietly make responsible, behind-the-scenes choices that honor Christ every day. They attend, tithe, work, volunteer, pray, invite, cheer, bless, teach, and most of all, do the right thing every day. They are like the nameless heroes in Hebrews chapter eleven: “who conquered kingdoms, performed acts of righteousness . . . quenched the power of fire . . . experienced mocking and scourging, imprisonment . . . destitute, afflicted, ill-treated.”As we close out the church year, I’m grateful for all the quiet, unnamed leaders who make Parkland Baptist a loving haven of hope this side of heaven. Thanks be to God!

Bro. Tom

A Note of Thanks We Have Received

Dear members of Parkland,

Thank you for the blessing you have been to the Mission Outreach to the people of the Village of LaEsporanza, Honduras, July 2012! We were able to give medical help to 4,200 people. We gave out 23,277 prescriptions, saw 461 dental patients with 648 tooth extractions. In the Optical Clinic, we saw 920 patients, giving out 270 pairs of prescription glasses and built 22 pair of specialty glasses. We had tent services from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day with 320 giving their life to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! We also had 47 children give their life to Christ in the Soccer Clinic and children services. We had street and door to door ministry with 69 giving their life to Christ. That is 436 precious souls born into the Kingdom of God during this Mission Outreach. May God bless you greatly for being a part of this great work!
