A Message from Ed
Whether we were raised and brought up in the same home town or lived there all our lives, to be human is to be on a journey. Suk Hwa and I have often mused at the fact that no matter what plans we make and no matter what dreams and goals we set on our journey, God will surprise us. We may not understand all the details but ALWAYS, we have discovered that God knows best.
As God has now bought us together, we are discovering the mystery behind this journey already. Calvin is a community that is both diverse and united in your commitment to one another. Your authentic calling to share that love in the Amelia and Eastern Cincinnati area shows through in the warmth and sincerity of your PNC, whom we have already come to know and love.
Through my years of ministry it is a wonder that of all the different places God has called us to consider, your vision statement clearly aligns and unites our paths… For if we are truly striving to be “bonded together by God’s love”, united by “worship”, “nurture”, and mutual “support”, and “scatter(ed) to serve God…, proclaim the Word and sharing Christ’s peace in an uneasy world”, there is nothing that we can’t accomplish as we journey together in the years to come.
I am sure we will find blessing together inthis journey as God promises us in Psalm 21, “He will keep your life. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time on and for evermore.”

Leadership Style
I view myself as a leader who is most effective when transparently communicating the joys and challenges of submittingmyself to Christ.
I strive to create “synergy”,referring to a group dynamic whereby the whole is larger than the individual contribution of each participant.
Key Theological Issues
In an age of cultural relativity I think that it is vital for the Church to communicate what it means by the “authority ofscriptures”. What we must be clear on is that the authority of God’s Word iscompletely reliable in conveying the message of Divine salvation in the work and person of Jesus Christ. The Bible iswritten so that we may apply grace, mercy, and faith in the world we find ourselves in today, as it has for the faithful of allgenerations. The wonder of God’s Word is that this truth can be found in a canon of God inspired poetry, parable, andhistorical recollections. Another fundamental in reformed teaching that needs more emphasis today is the indwellingnature of Christ. I have always emphasized both thoughts coexisting which can be supportedby the understanding of a priesthood of all believers. It is of immenseimportance for reformed believers today to realize that grace and mercy are not merely desirable outcomes of faith, butessential qualities that dwell in otherwise corrupt souls.
