1. Background

2. Duration of Agreement

4. Financial Arrangements

5. Responsibilities

The responsibilities of each party under this agreement are as follows:

(a) Quality Assurance

·  Who is responsible for the quality of the overall Programme?

·  Who is responsible for the quality of the student learning experience?

·  Who is responsible for setting and for maintaining the academic standard of the programme?

·  Is there a need to monitor and provide feedback annually on the academic standard of the programme?

(b) Programme Approval

·  Has this Programme been approved by the proper authorities at both institutions (at AAU the relevant School and Study Board)?

·  How are programme changes handled?

·  If the Programme is meant to authorise the graduate student in Denmark (for example lawyers or medical doctors) then AAU shall discuss the relevant issues concerning the content of the Programme with the authorisation authority. In the event that material changes are made to the current curricula, this shall also be discussed with the authorisation authority.

(c) Programme Administration and Delivery

·  Who will be responsible for marketing and advertising the programme?

·  Who will be responsible for preparing, maintaining and issuing programme information for students?

·  How will programme delivery be managed – for instance, will each party identify a named responsible person?

(d) Student Admissions

·  Who has responsibility for the selection of students/candidates?

·  How is the selection made?

·  Are there limits on student numbers?

·  Specify the relevant entry requirements? (consider also language proficiency and application deadlines)

·  Where will the student be enrolled?

(e) Student Assessment

·  Who will set the assignments and examinations? Is there an approvals process?

·  Who will mark assignments and examinations etc? Is there an approvals process?

·  Will there be a requirement to appoint external examiners? If so, who will take the responsibility for this and what will the terms of reference be?

·  Who will issue the degree (if joint)?

(f) Student Support

·  Who will be responsible for providing advice, guidance and appropriate facilities (e.g. library, teaching and computing) for students?

·  Describe how complaints/appeals will be handled? Is there a right of appeal and if so, to whom? This should be in line with Clause 5 and 9.2 of Annex 1 (Standard Terms and Conditions). The relevant Faculty Office and the Central Student Guidance Office can give advice concerning the relevant rules and procedures.

7. Standard Terms and Conditions
