MONITORING N-AWARDS

Students will be considered to have satisfactorily completed a course if, in the principal’s view, there is sufficient evidence that they have met the following course completion criteria:

(a) followed the course developed or endorsed by the Board; and

(b) applied yourself with diligence and sustained effort to the set tasks and experiences provided in the course by the school; and

(c) achieved some or all of the course outcomes.

For courses where school assessment marks are submitted, students must make a genuine attempt at assessment tasks that total more than 50% of the available school assessment marks for that course.

If the principal determines that the above course completion criteria are not being met, a HSC assessment monitoring process has been implemented. This process ensures that students will be given written warning in sufficient time to correct any problems regarding the satisfactory completion of course requirements; and have the opportunity to appeal to the school against this N-determination.

The Board of Studies indicates that a student who has not complied with the above requirements cannot be regarded as having satisfactorily completed the course
