Visitor’s Agreement

The Covanta Haverhill facility welcomes all visitors to our site. To ensure the safety of all visitors and employees, Covanta has established a set of basic procedures for all visitors to follow when they are at the Covanta Haverhill site.

  1. All visitors to the site shall first enter through the front entrance gate. Parking is available for visitors at the front of the facility or across from scalehouse. After parking, visitors are asked to proceed to the administrative office lobby, located across from scale house. Due to heavy traffic conditions, please stay on marked cross walks.
  1. Once in the lobby, visitors must sign in the log book, list the time they arrive on site and their Covanta contact representative. When leaving site, visitors are expected to sign out in this log as well. This information is critical if an emergency should arise that requires Covanta to account for their presence.
  1. A phone has been provided in the lobby for visitors to use to contact their Covanta representative. If their representative is unavailable or unknown, they should dial “0” and a Covanta employee will assist them.
  1. The Covanta representative will meet them in the lobby and review the purpose of their visit. The Covanta representative will review all applicable safety and site policies and procedures to ensure their visit is productive as well as safe.
  1. As a general rule, no visitor will be allowed to enter the Facility building or premises (other than administrative offices) unless escorted by a Covanta Representative.
  1. Covanta asks all visitors to follow the direction given by facility personnel and observe Covanta’s rules and safety procedures. A copy of applicable Covanta safety procedures can be provided to a visitor in advance by coordinating their request with their Covanta representative. Visitors who are onsite to perform work will be required to complete additional contractor safety forms.
  1. In addition, to assure your personal safety, all visitors are required to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection and durable shoes (no high heels or heels that will cause slipping/falling over the various walking/working surfaces). Long pants and long sleeved shirts are also preferred.
  1. Photography or video is strictly prohibited unless prior approval is received by Covanta representative. If photography or videos are allowed, visitors agree to provide Covanta with copies upon request.
  1. Officials and employees of government agencies visiting in their official capacity are asked to declare the purpose of their visit and provide credentials if requested.
  1. Visitors will not publish, disclose or use oral or written confidential information obtained during the course of the visit without proper approval of a Covanta representative.
  1. To the extent not prohibited by law or public policy and in consideration of being allowed to visit the Facility. Visitors agree to assume all risks of personal injury, loss or damage to their property and for themselves, their heirs or others claiming through them. Waive any right to make claims for any such injury, loss or damage in any manner against Covanta its affiliated companies their directors, officers, employees, agents or representatives.
  1. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the Facility Manager at 978-241-3069.
