A COLOURFUL AND INVENTIVE CLOWN SHOW ABOUT BEING FRIENDS IN A MODERN WORLD COMES TO HALF MOON THEATRE FILLED WITH ACROBATICS, SLAPSTICK AND PHYSICAL THEATRE

Acá Theatre bring Better Together, a colourful and inventive clown show about beingfriends in a modern world, to Half Moon Theatre on Saturday 17 March, in a production filled withacrobatics and slapstick for families and children aged 3-8.

Join three delightful clowns who make waiting at a bus stop a tragically complicated affair. They don’t know it yet, butTropizo, Doa and Squiggle are on a journey to become best friends! But how do you make real friends in a modern world?Through loneliness, tumbles and laughter, they learn to cast aside the everyday distractions that stand in the way of whatmatters most.

Full of slapstick, acrobatics and physical comedy, Better Together is an artful, intelligent and hilarious piece of physical theatre. Theshow’s visual comedy and use of nonsensical language allows it to be understood by all, making it enjoyable for the wholefamily. Come along, and learn how three red noses are better than one!

Acá Theatre are a Kent-based physical theatre company who make witty and imaginativephysical comedy. One of The Marlowe Theatre’s Supported Emerging Companies, thecompany's practise is rooted in the Jacques Lecoq tradition of clowning, buffoonery, slapstickand acrobatics. In this philosophy of clowning, the clown is the comi-tragic hero, and butt ofthe audiences’ amusement, representing the charming and sometimes uncomfortable, all-toohumanaspects of us all. The company‘s interest is in exploring what happens to this kindof clown when confronted with the world as it is today.

Acá won the support of Arts CouncilEngland and the Kent Arts InvestmentFund in Spring 2016 for the developmentof Better Together. The Spring 2017 tourwas supported by Arts Council England.

Chris Elwell, Director of Half Moon commented: “We’re delighted to welcomeAcá Theatreto Half Moon Theatre with their clever and playful production,Better Together. The showuses slapstick, acrobatics and physical comedy to create an artful, intelligent and hilarious piece of theatre that’s enjoyable for the whole family.”
