RESOLVED,By two-thirds of the Congress here assembled, that the following article is proposed as an amendment to the Constitution of the United States, which shall be valid to all intents and purposes as part of the Constitution when ratified by the legislatures of three-fourths of the several states within seven years from the date of its submission by the Congress:
ARTICLE --

SECTION 1:Participation in Federal Elections shall hereby be compulsory for all citizens of legal voting age as determined by Congress. Exceptions for reasons such as health issues, religion, and conscientious objections will be considered. Penalties for not participating in mandatory voting for any reason deemed illegitimate by the federal government may include, but are not limited to: fines and imprisonment.

SECTION 2:The Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation

A Bill to Lift All Economic Sanctions on Venezuela

BE IT ENACTED BY THE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

Section 1.All economic sanctions currently imposed on Venezuela shall hereby be terminated.

Section 2.Venezuelan sanctions refer to all economic sanctions including Executive Orders 13692 and 13808.

Section 3.The US Department of State shall be responsible for implementing this legislation.

SECTION 4.This bill shall go into effect immediately upon passage.

Section 5.All laws in conflict with this legislation are hereby declared null and void.

A Resolution to End Ethnic-Cleansing in Myanmar

15 / WHEREAS, Myanmar’s population consists of a Buddhist majority and minorities of other faiths,
most of whom are deprived of basic civil rights.
WHEREAS, The Muslim Rohingya people have been denied citizenship, higher education,
reproductive rights, and forced into military service despite being settled in Myanmar
since the 15thcentury.
WHEREAS, Upwards of 600,00 Rohingya people have been forced from their native home in
Rakhine, Myanmar since October 2017, being subject to extrajudicial killings, gang rapes,
arson and infanticides.
WHEREAS,The government of Myanmar has dismissed these actions and cleared their military
of any wrongdoing in the face of what the UN has called potential “crimes against
humanity.”
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Student Congress here assembled make recommendation to impose
economic sanctions on Myanmar until these atrocities are addressed and ended.

A Bill to Repeal the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act to
Suit a Changing World

SECTION 1.The Gramm Leach Bliley Act (GLBA) is hereby repealed, reinstating sections 20 and 32 of the Glass-Steagall Act.

SECTION 2.Additional language shall be added to existing restrictions on diversification of banking institutions to prevent commercial corporations from expanding their offerings to include consumer or investment banking.

SECTION 3.The Department of the Treasury shall be responsible for the enforcement of this legislation.

SECTION 4.The provisions of this bill shall take effect January 1st of 2018.

SECTION 5.All laws or portions of laws in conflict with this legislation are hereby declared null and void.

A Bill to Withdraw from NAFTA

BE IT ENACTED BY THE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

Section 1.The United States shall hereby withdraw from the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).

Section 2.NAFTA is the treaty put into effect by the North American Free Trade Agreement Implementation Act of 1994, which creates a free-trade bloc between Canada, Mexico, and the United States. In this treaty, most tariffs on goods and services between the participating countries have been eliminated.

Section 3.The Office of The United States Trade Representative, the Department of Commerce, and the Department of Agriculture shall oversee the implementation of this legislation.

SECTION 4.This legislation shall be implemented during Fiscal Year 2020.

Section 5.All laws in conflict with this legislation are hereby declared null and void.

A Bill to Require all U.S. Citizens to Serve in the Military

Be it enacted by this Student Congress here assembled:

1.Section 1: All citizens of the United States ages 18 and older shall be required to serve a minimum of two years in the United States Armed Forces.

2.Section 2: “Serving” in the military shall be defined as providing any form of service to the U.S. Armed Forces directly, such as combat roles, medical support, or administrative help, etc.

3.Section 3: The Department of Defense shall enforce this legislation.

A Citizens may serve for any branch of the Armed Forces and at any time of their lives before they come of 30 years of age, otherwise they will be penalized. B Exemption may be provided to people with pre-existing medical conditions that make it impossible to perform any of the tasks required for serving.

C Government will be granted the permission to penalize those who do not follow this law, as will be decided in the form of fines or ineligibility to receive federal loans.

4.Section 4: This bill shall take effect on January 2, 2018.

5.Section 5: All laws in conflict with this legislation are hereby declared null and void.

10 / BE IT ENACTED BY THE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:
SECTION 1.Excluding existing agreements between the United States of America and any other nation, the sale of military equipment by the Government of the United States to any nation not annually certified as a human rights respecting democracy is prohibited.
SECTION 2.“Military equipment” shall include weapons, radar and communications systems designed to military specifications, and defensive equipment including missile defense systems.
Section 3. A The President shall certify to Congress in writing that a given arms-purchasing nation is compliance with this legislation. Such certification is good for one year from the date of issuance.
B.The State Department is responsible for all necessary procedures to gather and compile information to enforce this legislation, including but not limited to defining the terms “human rights respecting” and “democracy.”,
C. No existing agreement shall be extended that is not
In compliance with the terms of this legislation
D. The Senate shall have the power by majority vote
To overrule a president’s certification compliance. Such a vote must take place within thirty calendar days.
SECTION 4.This legislation shall take effect immediately upon passage.
