PROGRAMACTIVITY DIRECTOR
Title V – Cuyamaca College
The Program Activity Director is responsible for the overall activities and objectives of the Title V grant. Under the general direction of an administrator, the Activity Director will manage and administer a comprehensive set of activities related to the goals and objectives of the Title V grant. The Program Activity Director will be employed by the Foundation for Grossmont and Cuyamaca Colleges.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Report directly to the Title V Project Director; provide day-to-day operational support and management of the project;
- Provide support to faculty for the implementation of the accelerated pathways;
- Provide support for the revision/scaling up of The Pathway Academy;
- Facilitate the development and implementation of Title V program activities that assess, improve, and result inhigher transfer rates of underrepresented Hispanic students of the district through improved institutional effectiveness.
- Direct and monitor Title V program activities to ensure that goals, objectives, and timelines are met and in alignmentwith the college's and the accrediting commission's priorities and objectives.
- Assist with the development of operational procedures, strategic goals, and standards pertinent to activities related to the goals and objectives of the Title V Grant.
- Direct and monitor Title V program/activity budgets and expenditures to ensure reporting requirements (fiscal andprogrammatic) are in compliance with federal guidelines.
- Communicate the objectives, progress, and outcomes of initiatives to faculty, staff, students, administrators, and the community.
- Allocate resources to further institutional goals, evaluate results, and develop strategies for continued strength of thecollege's programs, services, and institutional effectiveness.
- Establish and maintain open and effective communication among faculty, staff, students, and administrators, as wellas university and high school partners.
- Partner with a management team dedicated to collaboration and the college goal of integrating instruction,institutional effectiveness, and student services as a way to create and maintain a supportive student learning environment.
- Prepare, write, and submit quarterly fiscal reports, program plans, year-end narratives, and budget reports in a timelyand efficient manner; read and interpret contracts, curriculum, and other related documents.
- Supervise assigned program personnel.
- Serve on the Title V program advisory committee and participate in campus workgroups charged with Title Vprogram objectives and activities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of an effective system of evaluation of the program and its activities.
- Integrate best practices of the program into institutional operation by the end of the grant period.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Bilingual in Spanish & English (preferred)
- Experience planning, coordinating, and organizing culturally diverse projects
- Experience facilitating the development and administration of learning communities and student learning outcomes in an institution of higher education
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Familiarity with community colleges rules and regulations
- Strong computer skills for communication, scheduling, tracking and reporting
- Knowledge of budgeting preparation and monitoring
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and good organizational skills
- Ability to work as a positive team member
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently with committee members, consultants, and contract monitors.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to: A Bachelor’s Degree with five years of experience in educational program implementation, a Master’s Degree with 2 years of experience.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Environment: Office, campus, and off-site environment; driving a vehicle to conduct work; constant interruptions.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person or on the telephone; seeing to read and verify data; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate office equipment; sitting or standing for extended periods of time; travel to various locations for meetings or events.
COMPENSATION:
For this full-time position with benefits, the starting salary is $81,708(M6).
