The cost of health insurance has increased dramatically over the years. For 2016, we were fortunate to be able to keep our costs the same as the previous year (no increase in your payroll deduction). For 2017, we can expect the cost of our health insurance to increase to $40.00 per pay period for Employee Only coverage in the EPO Plan and $80.00 for the PPO Plan. While these premiums are similar to our other local hospitals, there is no need to panic; we are actually providing a way for you to save on your premiums!

BECOME SILVER and SAVE! It’s EASY…and you earn Humana Vitality BUCKS!!!
· Next year, employees will experience an increase to $40.00 per pay period for Employee Only coverage in the EPO Plan and $80.00 for Employee Only coverage in the PPO Plan.
· Employees who participate in the Humana Vitality Wellness Program and achieve SILVER status by November 1, 2016, will receive a small decrease in the cost of their health insurance premium in 2017. The Employee Only cost is currently $21.65 and will be $20.00 per pay period; the PPO Plan is currently $63.96 and will be $60.00 for Employee Only coverage.
· The cost for employees plus dependents will also change; more information to come.
Employees will have a SECOND opportunity to save on the cost of health insurance. For those who do not reach SILVER status by November 1, 2016, but achieve it by April 30, 2017, the lower rates will apply beginning in May.
There are many factors that contribute to the cost of health insurance. We want everyone to focus on health and wellness (after all, we are a healthcare organization!). The Humana Vitality Champions are available to help you enroll and participate in the Humana Vitality Wellness Program so that you can reach SILVER status by November 1, 2016, and enjoy a lower cost of health insurance. BE NICOTINE FREE – SMOKING CESSATION PROGRAMS AVAILABLE NOW!
In October 2016, we will all be required to complete an attestation statement that we are nicotine free. Employees who currently use nicotine products (cigarettes, e-cigarettes, chewing tobacco, etc.) can contact the Lifestyle Center for information on their smoking cessation program and participate in the Humana Vitality smoking cessation program on-line.
· Employees who use nicotine products as of November 1, 2016, will be required to pay more for their insurance. The Employee Only cost will be $50.00 per pay period for the EPO Plan and $90.00 for the PPO Plan.
· An employee who quits later AND achieves SILVER status in the Humana Vitality Wellness Program will receive a decrease in cost from $50.00 to $20.00 per pay period for Employee Only coverage in the EPO Plan or to $60.00 for the PPO Plan.
WHAT TO DO NOW: Register online in Humana Vitality, complete your Health Assessment , and do your Vitality Check either at Employee Health or at the Lifestyle Center.
