You are going to research and show images from space that use telescopes and photography.

Research project

Your task is to produce either a poster collage or a computer presentation to show some of the most beautiful images from space that you can find. You will need to carry out some research on the Internet to find the pictures. When you have chosen at least ten, copy them onto computer slideshow, or print them out for the poster.

For each image you show, you must include the following items of information about it:

• what the object is called

• what type of object it is (star, planet, galaxy, etc.)

• where you got the image from (e.g. NASA’s website, the Science Museum website, a reference book, a science magazine, etc. If it is a website, include the website address)

• any more information you can find out, such as the name of the telescope or astronomer that took the picture

• the name of anybody who deserves a copyright credit (this will be listed with the image).

Try to select as wide a range of images as you can.

Be prepared to give a presentation of your poster or slideshow to the rest of the class. So, be ready to answer questions about the images!
