World War I Propaganda Poster Project

In class we have been learning about propaganda and how it was used during the war.

You will be:

*creating your own Propaganda Poster on oaktag

AND

* Typing a 3-4 paragraph paper (12 point font, times new roman)

Create your own Propaganda Poster With:

1) A powerful image or images of the war, or some other graphics. Can be printed or hand drawn.

2) A slogan that attempts to get a person to take some action


In Paragraph Form (at least 3-4), Include:

1)What historical facts are covered in this poster?

-What historical knowledge would the viewer need to fully understand your poster? Explain this part as thoroughly as possible.

2)An analysis of your own propaganda poster.

-You should clearly explain the significance of your slogan as well as why you included all of the images used.

Sample Poster Purposes:

Enlistment – Join the Military

War Bonds – loan the government money to pay for the war

Spying – encourage people not to spill secrets: “Loose Lips Sink Ships”

Please do not use the above slogan!
