Within the Area of Communication & Membership, I Will Try to Pursue the Following Aims

I am the new Vice President for Communication & Membership 2009-2010, and t is a great challenge. I am an Allergist, and currently head of the Section of Allergology at the Vall d’Hebron University Hospital in Barcelona. I have been living in Barcelona since 1994, although I am from Mallorca. Since 2006, I was deeply involved in the Local Organizing Committee of the 20008 EAACI Congress. In 2007 I joined the Executive Committee of the EAACI as a member at large.

Within the area of communication & membership, I will try to pursue the following aims:

· Increasing visibility of EAACI as the leading organisation in the field of Allergy

· Development of existing and new communication tools (e-media, social networking,…)

· Improving internal communication and transparency

· Increasing the involvement of members within EAACI

· Increasing the awareness of the general population, other health professionals and authorities on the public health problems related to allergy and clinical immunology
