Monday / What are we learning?
Daily Objective: Students will learn the basic rules of table tennis and be able to play a game following those rules.

3. Physical Activity and Health: the student applies safety practices associated with physical activity. The student is expected to:
A. Demonstrate safety procedures such as spotting during gymnastics and using proper footwear
B. Describe examples and exercises that may be harmful or unsafe
4. Physical activity and health. The student applies fitness principles during a personal fitness program. The student is expected to:
A. Explain the relationship between physical fitness and health
B. Participate in a variety of activities that develop health-related physical fitness activities including aerobic exercise to develop cardiovascular fitness
E. Describe methods of evaluating health-related fitness such as Cooper’s 1.5 mile run test
How will we learn it?
Learning Activities: Students will practice the skills they need in order to be proficient at table tennis, including serving, and backhand hits.
How will we tell if we’re learning it correctly?
Assessment Methods: There will be a Unit Quiz at the end of the Unit, on the HUB.
Checks for Understanding: Informal observation of students while performing in their games
What do I need to be successful?
Materials: tables, tape, poster board, ping pong paddles, ping pong balls,
What do I need to do before next class?
Follow Up/HW: Ask students to make sure they have completed all previous HUB assignments.
Tuesday / What are we learning?
Daily Objective: Students will continue to practice skills that will make them successful at the game of table tennis.

Wed/Thurs / What are we learning?
Daily Objective: Fitness Stations/ Run ½ campus loop
Students will gain an understanding of physical fitness through doing various fitness stations and participating in cardiovascular exercise.
After doing fitness stations, any students who were absent during fitnessgram will make-up their fitnessgram tests.

Learning Activities:
After fitness stations, students will walk/jog a half-campus loop and then be able to complete their HUB assignments. If any students need to make up fitnessgram tests, they can do them now.
How will we tell if we’re learning it correctly?
Assessment Methods: Quiz at the end of the unit
Checks for Understanding: Check student understanding by reviewing HUB activity and informal observation during the fitnessgram tests.
What do I need to be successful?
Materials: fitnessgram CD, CD player, ruler, scale, tape measure
What do I need to do before next class?
Follow Up/HW: Ask students to practice any tests they are weak in at home to improve their scores.
Friday / What are we learning?
Daily Objective: Students will have a ping-pong tournament where they will play each other and practice the skills they learned during the table tennis lessons this week.
