Wesley Counselling Support Services provide vital support in a range of areas including gambling, financial and legal services.
In this role we are seeking a Financial Counsellor/Community Educator to work with people with gambling problems and their families in a full-time position at our Wollongong location.
Essential criteria:
· Sound background and training in financial counselling.
· Have experience and/or competency in delivering community education programs.
· Demonstrated crisis telephone assessment and counselling skills
· Have an interest in and/or knowledge of problem gambling issues
· Be an accredited member of the Financial Counsellors’ Association of NSW (or working towards accreditation).
· Demonstrate highly developed communication skills in written and oral situations, with supportive & positive attitude toward all persons for whom there is responsibility, accountability or care.
· Be computer literate, including the use of Microsoft Office.
· Hold a current NSW drivers license
· Demonstrates a commitment to the vision, mission and Christian principles of the Wesley Mission which support a values driven service culture
Desirable criteria:
· Sound background and training in general counselling.
· Have experience in dealing with problem gamblers and their families.
Remuneration: Remuneration will be in accordance with the Social Community and Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (classification subject to the successful applicant’s knowledge, skills and experience). Generous salary packaging benefits are available
