JOB DESCRIPTION

OSPI Advisor/Liaison

Non-Voting Board Member

Job Summary:

The Advisor acts as a liaison between WSNA and OSPI (Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction)

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Promote coordination of activities between WSNA and OSPI

2. Advise WSNA regarding program or regulatory changes initiated by USDA or OSPI that may effect their activities

3. Recommend timely issues and speakers for meetings and conferences.

4. Advise the Board on procedural matters that may affect WSNA activities.

5. Advise WSNA when their issues, concerns, and activities conflict with state law, i.e., Revised Code of Washington (RCW), any state agency’s policy (Washington Administrative Code (WAC), OSPI policy, and /or federal law or USDA regulations.

6. Serves on the Public Policy & Legislation Committee.
