Activate / Thesaurus Race- students pair up and race to see who can find a given word the fastest.
Once students are all on the same page, they are to find a synonym and/or antonym they could use

Teaching / Students revise a narrative writing. They must find and highlight three examples of dialogue or adjectives that spice up the writing. In addition, they must find a frequently used adjective and find a good synonym for it. If students cannot find these examples, they will need to add to their writing.

Summarize / Pair and share- Students review each other writings and see if they can make one positive change to their partners paper.
