Why / Craft workshops for adults with learning disabilities
Activities recently have included clay workshops, gift making and painting
Main Tasks / assist the co-ordinator and other volunteers to deliver sessions in blocks of 6 weeks at a time.
interact with everyone during the sessions
encouraging clients to make choices for themselves and enabling them to be as independent as possible.
reporting any concerns to the co-ordinator or manager
Skills required / Be able to demonstrate empathy with and genuine commitment to the values and goals of Watford Mencap.
Interested in enabling people with learning disabilities through participation in the activities
Basic knowledge of IT
Commitment / This project requires longer term commitment and ideally you will be available for volunteering for 12 months or more
