Columnist

Administrative Accomplishments

· Developed and implemented first branding campaign for the department that included signage, development of collateral materials, 8 alumni videos, advising guides, revision of the website and promotional products.

· Developed and implemented online MBA in Marketing and hybrid course offerings.

· Developed and implemented undergraduate online marketing course offerings.

· Developed engagement with alum and students through social media such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and Twitter.

· Oversaw student chapter of American Marketing Association received the top club award for the University as well as wining 3rd in a national competition among American Marketing Association clubs.

· Hosted fundraising events that contributed $8,000 to endow the Sports & Marketing Scholarship.

· Fundraised and endowed a scholarship in memory of former marketing alum ($25,000)

· Prepared department for AACSB team reaccreditation visit. The College was reaccredited in 2014 for another 5 years.

· Developed, in collaboration with faculty, new department guidelines for Retention, Promotion and Tenure that was approved by Faculty Senate in 2014.

· Mentored tenure-track faculty to obtain tenure and promotion in the department.

· Stabilized MBA Marketing enrollment and introduced secondary concentration in Strategic Communications

Other Accomplishments

Online and Distance Learning

· Received the ODL Teaching Award in 2011 for excellence in online instruction.

· Developed online course offerings on image and advertising for a commercial entity.

· Conducted surveys regarding marketing MBA program and modified course delivery from online to traditional and hybrid.

International Education

· Recipient of Fulbright Senior Fellowship for a year of research and teaching in Romania (2002-2003)

· Recipient of Fulbright Specialist Award for International Marketing (2009)

· Recipient of Fulbright Specialist Award for Advertising (2005)

· Received three (3) Visiting Professorships with Alexander I. Cuza University, Iasi, Romania

· Developed 2+2 and 3+1 programs with China-based universities.

Research

· Published over 42 peer-reviewed journal articles, 5 books, 2 book chapters, and over 63 conference proceedings.

· Awarded over $40,000 in grants including a CIBER grant.

Teaching

· Developed and implemented first student retail laboratory (“The Store”) as a part of the merchandising curriculum with in-kind donations.

· Developed and implemented a shadow program in Fashion Merchandising curriculum.

· Developed and implemented the Marketing Resource Facility from in-kind donations.

· Employed the Vector Program for Professional Selling and Sales Mgmt Courses.

· Introduced client-based projects in advertising and marketing courses with such companies as JC Penney, San Bernardino 66ers baseball team, American Express, YMCA

· Participated in the General Motors Internship Program

· Participated in the AAF National Student Advertising Competition. Teams placed 3rd -twice in the district competition.

· Developed and implemented the Retail Roundtable for employers and students.

· Developed first menswear trend booklet and fashion presentation to management and employees at Burdines

· Streamlined gifts department to be reflective of market needs.

· Managed a$2,000,000 business in designer sportswear and a $600,000 gift business at Saks Fifth Avenue.

Community

· Served as President (twice) and on the board of the Inland Empire Chapter of the American Advertising Federation.

· Implemented first annual scholarship for local affiliate of the American Advertising Federation.

· Developed and Implemented first Media Auction to raise funds for the club. The inaugural event raised $10,000.
