Veterinary Technician

The ideal candidate has previous experience with canine and feline patients, a broad knowledge of veterinary science, including pharmacology, above average mathematical skills, computer proficient and is comfortable working in a fast paced/sometimes stressful, emotional environment .
Responsibilities:
· Speaking to clients both in person and over the phone
· Triage and obtain in depth patient history
· Verifying receipt of referral documentation
· Venipuncture
· Placing intravenous catheters
· Perform digital radiographs
· Patient care including diagnostic procedures and treatments
· Anesthesia induction, monitoring and recovery
· Follow OSHA safety standards throughout the hospital
· Prepare prescriptions and communicates discharge orders to clients.
· Maintaining accurate controlled drug logs
· Knowledge of general laboratory techniques
We require completion of a veterinary technician program, with a preference for those who have worked in a practice previously. You must either be licensed in the state of Colorado, or eligible to apply for your license prior to working with All Dogs and Cats Veterinary Hospital.
Our work week is Monday through Saturday, and some half day Saturdays are required of this position. Salary corresponds with experience.
