How Do I Record & Capture Video?

To record:

· Wait for Ready to appear in the top left corner of the display screen before recording

· To begin recording, press and release the red Record button

· While recording, the red "•" symbol will appear and flash in the top left corner of the display screen, and the red LED light on the front of the camcorder will turn on.

· To stop recording, press the red Record button again

How Do I Play Videos On My Camcorder?

To play back videos you have recorded:

· Press PLAY to playback last video recorded

o Note: "►" will appear in the top left corner of the display screen

· Press PLAY again to stop playback

· To select another video to play back — see Skip Forward/Backward

· To play all videos, press and hold down PLAY for 3 seconds

How Do I Delete Videos From My Camcorder?

To delete a video you have recorded:

· Press DELETE and the last video recorded or played will appear on the display screen

o Delete video? will appear on the display screen

· Press DELETE again to confirm

· Press any other button to cancel your delete action, or simply wait for the action to cancel itself

· To select another video to delete — see Skip Forward/Backward

To delete all videos you have recorded:

· Press and hold down DELETE for 3 seconds

o "Delete all videos?" will appear on the display screen

How Do I Start The Flip Video Program On My Computer?

On Windows XP computers:

· After connecting the camcorder to your Windows XP computer, a Windows dialog should appear asking you to choose what you want to do with the device If you do not see the Windows dialog or the program does not start automatically:

o Open My Computer and double-click the FLIPVIDEO icon

o A window should appear that displays the contents of your camcorder.

o Double-click the Flip Video for PC icon to start the Flip Video Program

o When the Flip Video Program starts for the first time, a window will appear requesting your acceptance of the license agreement, and the installation of 3ivx video compatibility software, which allows your computer to play your videos, and muvee software, which allows you to make custom movie mixes. Click I Agree and wait for the installation to complete. Upon completion, the program will automatically start.

o You are now ready to use the Flip Video Program to play back, save, share, edit and make movie mixes of your videos. Please note that the camcorder must remain connected to your computer for you to use the program with your videos.

o The next time you want to use the program, simply connect your camcorder and the program should automatically start. You do not need to install the program each time you want to use it.

o Please note that the camcorder must remain connected to your computer for you to use the program with your videos.

How Do I View Videos Using The Flip Video Program?

To browse videos:

· In Your Library, click the name of the album you want to browse. A group of videos will appear. The default view displays up to four videos per group.

· Click Next or Back to page forward and backward.

· To view a specific page, click on a number in the bar at the bottom of the viewing screen.

To view videos in the default view:

· In the default view, click Play to view a video from start to finish. During playback, click Stop to end video playback.

To view a video in other ways:

· Enlarge a video's playback size by clicking Edit below the video you want to watch. (Clicking Smaller restores it to the smaller playback size in the default view.)

· Immediately below the video viewing window, there are onscreen controls similar to those found on CD and DVD players:

o Play >

o Pause ||

o Step Forward |>

o Step Backward <|

o Fast Forward to End >|

o Rewind to Start |<

· To view a video from start to finish, click Play >. During playback, click Pause || to pause the video.

· To forward or rewind a video to a specific point, drag the playback slider along the time bar and stop at the point you would like.

· To forward or rewind a video in small steps, click Step Forward |> to advance, and Step Backward <| to move in the reverse. Each click moves the video forward or backward a single step.

· To rewind to the video's beginning, click Rewind to Start |<. If you click this during playback, the video will rewind to the beginning and begin playing automatically. If you click this while the video is paused, the video will rewind to the beginning and remain paused.

· To forward to the end of the video, click Fast Forward to End >|.

How Do I Save Videos Using The Flip Video Program?

To save a video on your computer using the Flip Video program:

· In Your Library, click on an album.

· In Features, click Save Videos. The Save Videos screen will appear.

· Select videos by clicking on thumbnails. Each selected video will be highlighted. To select all your videos, click Select All.

· To save videos to your computer, click Save to Computer. The Save to Computer screen will appear. You can save to an existing album or create a new album.

· To create a new album, click Create New Album, then click Save. Enter the name of the new album where prompted, then click OK. Note: Saving a video to a new location does not delete it from its original location.

· To save videos to your camcorder, click Save to Camcorder for DVDs. There is limited space on your camcorder, but you can save as many videos as space permits. After you have saved, you can take your camcorder to a local Pure Digital retailer to get a DVD made.

NOTE: On Windows computers, actual video files are saved in the My Flip Video Library folder in My Documents. On Macintosh computers, actual video files are saved in the My Flip Video Library folder in Documents.
