The Business Plan Summary is a snapshot of your business concept. It should communicate the following, what your business does, how you as a person add value and why your business will succeed. Your business plan summary should be short, factual, and tell your story effectively.

Please use the following format (See example of Business Plan Summary):

Business Description: What your business is about, up to 120 words describing your business purpose. Make sure each word is adding clarity and value. Avoid repetition, be specific and don’t worry if it is short as long as it clearly expresses the purpose of your business.

Management Experience: Describe how your expertise or experience is applicable to your business and could contribute to its success. Up to 120 words.

Markets: Describe who is going to buy your products and who are your potential customers. Quote facts that add credibility. Up to 120 words.

Financial Summary Chart should contain your sales forecast, income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, and break even analysis.

Funding Request: The amount of capital you are seeking in grants or zero interest loans. If you are only seeking grants, please write next to the amount grants only. If you are open to both grants and zero interest loans please, write grants or zero interest loan next to the amount.

Marketing Strategy: Describe your product or service, your competitive advantage, average market prices for similar products or services. Up to 120 words.

Sales and promotions: How you plan to sell your products or services. Up to 120 words.

Operations Strategy: Describe how your business will operate in order to meet your customer needs and business goals. Up to 240 words.

Capitalization and Finance: The financial statements summary will provide a more detailed look at the financial side of your business. In this section you can explain how it will work. Explain the sources of capital for your business, how your business will grow and at what point will you reach break even or profit. Up to 120 words.
