University of Phoenix QuickBooks® Online File Import
Prior to completing this process:
1. You must download the following files from Week 1 of your course and save it to your desktop.
o acc291_r4_Chart_of_Accounts.xls
o acc291_r4_CRSE_291_QBO_Import_file.xls
2. You must use your University of Phoenix email address for both the QBO company and Transaction Pro Importer.
Import the Chart of Accounts
To import the required Chart of Accounts into your University of Phoenix QuickBooks® Online student account:
1. Log into your University of Phoenix QuickBooks® Online company file:
https://qbo.intuit.com
2. Click the Gear icon, located in the top-right corner of the screen.
3. Select Import Data from the Tools column of the menu.
4. Click the hyperlink for Chart of Accounts in the Import Data window.
5. On the Import screen, click the Browse button.
6. Locate and select the Microsoft® Excel® spreadsheet (acc291_r4_Chart_of_Accounts.xls) you saved earlier.
7. Click the Next button to connect the Chart of Accounts spreadsheet to your QuickBooks® company file.
8. Click the Import button.
9. A confirmation of the imported data will display.
Resolving this import message:
1. Click the X in the top-right corner of the window, to close out of the import process.
2. From the Gear, under Settings, select Chart of Accounts.
3. Review the list for the Chart of Accounts to verify that the account(s) that won’t import is already listed. If the account(s) appear in the Chart of Accounts, you make continue past this point.
Adding Account Numbers
To add Account Numbers:
1. From the Gear, select Company Settings.
2. From the Settings menu, click Advanced.
3. Click on Chart of accounts.
4. Place a check-mark (✓) next to Enable account numbers.
5. From the Navigation menu, click Transactions > Chart of Accounts.
6. Click the Batch edit (pencil) icon located in the top-right corner, in order to add account numbers.
