There are many good reasons why we should learn, not only in school but also throughout our whole lives. In fact, we start learning at home before we even enter school. We learn about our family, how to speak and understand our mother tongue, and how to play and get along with others. Once in school, our education may seem to last for a long time, but it is only a short part of our life. We should learn as much as we can while we are still in school because we can focus on our studies without having the stress of work or relationships. With the knowledge and skills which we learn in school, we will be better able to work later in life.

After we finish studying in schools, we should keep on learning new things because the world is changing so fast. After all, we spend more time out of school than we do in it. We should continue to learn more new skills, and how to get along well with others. We must pay attention to the world around us. As we grow, we change. Others around us change, too. We should also keep learning more about our relationships with family and friends. For these reasons, we should learn as much as we can for as long as we live.

—Bruce E. Bagnell
