Application for the 2019 IB Diploma Programme Candidates begins January 26, 2017. Parts I, II, and III

must be completed and returned to Marvin Ridge High School- Guidance Office no later than Thursday,

February 9, 2017. Attendance is required for applicants, February 18, 2017 at 8:45 a.m., in the Marvin Ridge High School Media Center for Part IV of the application, the writing prompt.

The four-part application includes the following:

III. Teacher Recommendations from your most recent (first semester) teachers in:

1. Science 2. Math 3. World Language 4. Social Studies 5. English

IV. Subject Prompts–Applicants must attend a Subject Prompt assessment to be held at 8:45 a.m., Saturday, February 18, 2017 in the MRHS Media Center. Students must bring a black or blue pen. Part IV requires applicant’s attendance on this day. No other preparation is required. Plan for a 90 minute session. If unable to attend the Part IV assessment, a written request for the make-up session ( February 23, 2017 at 3:00 p.m.) and reason for absence must be made no later than February 10, 2017 and submitted to Mrs. Arant, IB Coordinator at Marvin Ridge High School.

Admission to the International Baccalaureate Programme is highly competitive. Admission is based on a four-part application process and students may be placed on a waiting list. Notification of status will be provided in early March. Accepted candidates will then register for IB classes on Monday, March 13, 2017.
