Next Sunday, April 14 at 6 pm, Sherrie Fausey, Director of Christian Light School and Children’s Home in Haiti will be at UBC to talk about the work her ministry does in Haiti. Sherrie was a school teacher in Jacksonville, Florida and in 2000 she moved to Haiti to start a school in one of the most impoverished areas of Port au Prince. Every team that has gone to Haiti from UBC has spent time at Sherrie’s and we all love her very much. Please come out and meet Sherrie at this service and hear more about what God is doing through her ministry. Doors will open at 5 pm for refreshments and fellowship prior to the service.
Dave, son of UBC’s Paul Wilson, was born in Greenville, TX. He was exposed to music and faith from a young age with his dad being in fulltime ministry. Dave did the unexpected, and started a rock band. They were quickly signed to a deal with RCA Records. After touring for a couple of years, Dave found himself being courted by friends involved in ministry. God was starting to reveal His plan for Dave. Many of the skills he had learned in the secular music industry were easily translated to contemporary worship. After serving on staff at one of the largest and fastest growing churches in the country, Dave developed a reputation as a professional consultant, speaker, strategist, and music coach with churches and religious organizations around the country. “I believe we are called to make worship a vibrant, exciting, and fun experience, because that’s what Heaven will certainly be like,” says Dave.
Dave is currently serving as Creative Director of Modern Worship at the First United Methodist Church in Coppell, TX.
