THIRTY-SIXTH ANNUAL EDEN INVITATIONAL

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 7th, 2013

EDEN BOYS VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT

FORMAT All matches are (2) - 25 point rally games (Win by two)

All teams will advance to single elimination playoffs.

SEEDING All seeding will be done according to games win/loss record: there will be no playoff games to determine seeding. Ties will be broken according to the following system:

A. Teams tied within the Pool

1. Head to head in games

2. Head to head in points.

3. Points against differential for entire Pool.

B. Teams tied within Playoff Bracket.

1. Games Win / Loss record

2. Point against differential in entire Pool

3. If still tied then a coin flip will determine seeding

Seeding is pre-determined from pools to maximize play against other teams. I also have tried to move teams to different gyms from last year.

WORK ASSIGNMENTS

First referees will be assigned to all matches. Teams who scheduled to work are expected to provide a flipper and a scorekeeper. Please check the work schedule carefully. I have made some changes!!!

DO NOT MISS WORKING ASSIGNMENTS!!

Concessions: Pizza and food will be sold throughout the day in the HS cafeteria.

PLEASE NOTE THAT EDEN HAS PLACED 12 COURTESY WARM-UP VBALLS AT EVERY COURT. 12 MUST BE IN THE CART BEFORE THE NEXT MATCH STARTS!!!!

PLEASE ASK YOUR PLAYERS TO RESPECT THE FACITLITY AND THE PROPERTY OF OTHERS. A DISREGARD OF THIS WILL RESULT IN YOUR TEAM NOT BEING ASKED BACK NEXT YEAR!

36th ANNUAL EDEN INVITATIONAL

September 7, 2013

The Eden Pan-Am tournament will have round robin formats with playoffs. I have attempted to allow the most play possible especially since some our guests are traveling great distances.

Once again, we are going to attempt to print a program including all rosters. I know that it is early in the season, but if you could FAX or mail a copy of your roster with names and correct jersey numbers by September 4th (or Earlier), it would facilitate a complete program. College coaches have been notified of the tourney and they always ask for rosters.

Eden’s fax number is 716-992-3652 in care of Robert Pierce.

Better yet if you can email me the roster in Word that would be even better!

The Varsity tourney fee is $285 per team. (US Funds)

-- If there still is a tie, a coin toss will determine the position.

-- Seeding for playoffs will be pre-determined first by finish in pool. We have attempted to give as much play as possible, for teams to play as many teams as possible and still remain in New York State guidelines.

-- Seeding will be as follows:

GOLD Seeds 1 - 4 = Pool winners

Seeds 5 - 8 = 2nd place teams

SILVER Seeds 9 - 12 = 3rd place teams

BRONZE Seeds 13 -16 = 4th place teams

-- Gold Medal round playoffs will be best of three point games from the quarter finals. They will be 2 x 25pt. rally games (no cap) and a deciding rally game to 15 with a 17pt. cap.

--Silver and Bronze consolation rounds will be one 30 point rally game (no cap)in the semis and one game to 30 (no Cap) in the Finals.

--Please vote on All-Tourney selections from all four pools. Do not vote for your own players. Please turn in all ballots in to an Eden Rep. wearing a Eden Mizuno Staff Shirt.

To make sure that this size tournament runs smoothly, you must bring a scorer and flippers with you. The referee will select the official scorer at the beginning of each match. Please have the official scorer use the sheets provided on the scorers table. Linesmen are a necessity; please bring a JV player to help out. Work teams that are late for their assignments will be penalized.
