FIELDWORK IN FORESTED, BRUSH-COVERED, GRASSLAND, AND WETLAND AREAS
The Administrative Guidelines for Fieldwork in Forested, Brush-Covered, Grassland, and Wetland Areas describe measures to reduce employee exposure to risks encountered while performing fieldwork in forested, brush-covered, grassland, and wetland areas and thereby, maximize ANR or other fieldworker health and safety. The following delineates training procedures and provides documentation of completed training.
Training Procedures
§ All ANR employees or other personnel intending to perform fieldwork on University of California property that is either forested, brush-covered, grasslands, and/or wetlands shall review the portions of the Administrative Guideline entitled Fieldwork Communications, Regulatory Framework for Fieldwork, Personal Protective Equipment, and Training.
§ In consultation with their supervisor or University of California property manager (or designee), the ANR employee or other personnel shall select and review information about the specific types of hazards that may be present in the fieldwork area.

§ The ANR employee or other personnel may review specific hazard information given in the Administrative Guidelines or on the complimentary Safety Notes.
§ The ANR employee or other personnel shall obey all local rules/procedures as follows:
1. Type(s) of communication equipment issued .
2. Area(s) of restricted entry .
3. Other .
Training Documentation
ANR Employees and other personnel shall acknowledge they reviewed information for fieldwork hazard topics checked above and understand the information provided to them by signing this sheet below. Supervisor’s or the University of California property manager (or designee) shall verify the employee’s or other personnel’s acknowledgement by also signing the sheet in the designated place below. This signed form shall be retained in the files at the University of California property.
