Directions to the Kent Farm Transfer Station
From the Town Office Building on Main Street, follow Route 121 to Kent Farm Road, turn right on Kent Farm Road. Follow Kent Farm Road, bearing left at the “Y”. The Transfer Station is approximately 1 mile further on the right.

For bulk trash disposal: Open 8:00 am to 4:00 pm the second Saturday from April – November

For brush and leaves: Open 8:00 am to 4:00 pm the third Saturday in April, May, October & November

Transfer Station Stickers are required to access the Kent Farm Transfer Station
Annual Sticker Fee: $20.00/year

One-day Sticker Fee: $20.00 for any size car/truck PLUS annual sticker

Allowable Disposal Items: Sofas | Chairs | Mattresses | Metal Items | Appliances | Electronics

Note: large items must be disassembled. Where applicable, items must be drained of fluids

How to Obtain a Vehicle Sticker
Transfer Station permit stickers must be purchased from the Town Clerk ($20.00/YEAR). Permit requirements are strictly enforced. They should be placed in the lower left-hand corner of your windshield. One day permits for a non-residential passenger vehicle, pickup truck or U-haul vehicle are $20, plus the resident is required to have a valid annual permit, or purchase an annual permit at the same time.

Air Conditioner

Accepted at Kent Farm Transfer Station with a valid vehicle sticker in addition to $20 in landfill dollar coupons which must be purchased at the town hall PRIOR to going to the Kent Farm Transfer Station.

Antifreeze

Antifreeze is a hazardous waste and can be disposed of at the Annual Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Day (next date available on the web site). For more information, call the Town hall at 329-4100.

Ashes

May be used in sparingly in gardens.

Batteries

Car Batteries & Rechargeable batteries can be brought to the Town Garage located at 35 Stage Rd on the 1st & 3rd Saturday of each month from 8:00 – 1:00. No permit required.

Books, Videos, CDs, DVDs

Drop at “Big Hearted Books” container located at the town garage (35 Stage Rd). The Hampstead Library will also take books in good condition. You can recycle old/moldy books curbside.

Brush/Brush Days

Dedicated Brush & Leaves disposal days are set at the Kent Farm Transfer Station. A valid vehicle sticker is required.

Brush & Leaves Disposal Days are the 3rd Saturday in October and November.

Bulk Items
Bulk items such as furniture, sofas, chairs, mattresses are allowed at the Kent Farm Transfer Station with a valid vehicle sticker. You can purchase an item ticket at town hall for $15/per item and Casella will pick up your bulk item curbside. This does not include computers/monitors/appliances/TVs. To take advantage of this service, purchase a sticker at the town hall - $15/per item. You will be given a sticker to affix to your item when you place it at curbside and the date on which Casella will pick it up. Any questions contact town hall at 603.329.4100.


Cardboard Boxes & Paper

Cardboard boxes and paper should be recycled with your weekly curbside pickup or at the Kent Farm Transfer Station. For residents who live in apartments with no recycling offered, you can put paper and recyclables in the recycling container located at the town garage at 35 Stage Rd. All cardboard must be broken down to 2’ x 2’ pieces.

Christmas Trees/Wreaths

Only allowed at the Kent Farm Transfer Station the second Saturday in January with a valid vehicle sticker, no curbside pick-up.

Clothing

Clothes & shoes can be brought to the Goodwill bins at Hannaford or the Planet Aid container on Hazel Drive. In-season clothing can be brought to the Hampstead Library at any time for the Hollyhock Thrift Store.

Computers and Accessories

Computers can be brought to the Kent Farm Transfer Station. A valid vehicle sticker is required, in addition to landfill dollar coupons, which must be purchased at the town hall PRIOR to going to the Kent Farm Transfer Station.

Monitors up to 24 inches $10.00

Construction Debris (Residential & Commercial)

Not permitted curbside or at the Kent Farm Transfer Station. The Raymond Transfer Station will take this, but there is a cost per pound. Call for arrangements: 603.895.6273

Accepted at Kent Farm Transfer Station with a valid vehicle sticker in addition to $20 in landfill dollar coupons which must be purchased at the town hall PRIOR to going to the Kent Farm Transfer Station.

Dishwasher

DVD Player

Fluorescent Bulbs & Compact Fluorescent Bulbs

Freezer

Accepted at Kent Farm Transfer Station with a valid vehicle sticker in addition to $20 in landfill dollar coupons which must be purchased at the town hall PRIOR to going to the Kent Farm Transfer Station.

Furniture

Furniture is allowed at the Kent Farm Transfer Station with a valid vehicle sticker (includes but not limited to: tables, chairs, sofas, mattresses, box springs, recliners, area rugs, chairs, etc.)

Grill – gas or charcoal

Accepted at Kent Farm Transfer Station with a valid vehicle sticker.

Gasoline

Old gasoline is accepted at the town garage (35 Stage Rd) on the 1st & 3rd Saturday of each month from 8:00 – 1:00.

Grass Clippings

Grass clippings are allowed only on Brush Days at the Kent Farm Transfer Station (see “Brush Days”).

Hazardous Waste

Hazardous Waste (pesticides, antifreeze, brake fluid, pharmaceuticals, wood preservatives, paint thinner, oil based paints, solvents, etc) can be disposed of at the Annual Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Day to be held in the fall. Call the town hall at 603.329.4100 for more information. Proof of residence is required.

Humidifier

Accepted at Kent Farm Transfer Station with a valid vehicle sticker in addition to $20 in landfill dollar coupons which must be purchased at the town hall PRIOR to going to the Kent Farm Transfer Station.

Lawnmower

Accepted at the Kent Farm Transfer Station with valid vehicle sticker. Oil and gas must be removed.

Leaves

Accepted at Kent Farm Transfer Station with a valid vehicle sticker in the October & November Brush Days.

Mattress/Box Spring

Accepted at the Kent Farm Transfer Station with a valid vehicle sticker. Curbside pick-up is also available for $15/item – but you must get sticker and pick-up date first from town hall.

Metals

The following metals can be disposed of at the Kent Farm Transfer Station with a valid vehicle sticker: aluminum, copper, brass, steel, tin, iron, wrought iron, cast aluminum, bicycle frames, aluminum/metal door and window frames with glass and/or wood removed, metal barbecue grills.

Microwave Oven

Accepted at the Kent Farm Transfer Station with a valid vehicle sticker.

Moving Boxes

Needles/Syringes

Household generated needles may be disposed of in your curbside pick-up provided that the needles are enclosed inside a rigid puncture-resistant container (such as a laundry detergent bottle) and that the container encasing the needles is sealed and labeled “not for recycling”. Needles may also be returned from place of purchase, please contact your pharmacy.

Paper

Oil – used

May be brought to the town Garage located at 35 Stage Rd on the 1st & 3rd Saturday of each month from 8:00 – 1:00.

Paint

• Latex paint: Latex paint is not a hazardous material so you can dispose of it curbside or at the Kent Farm Transfer Station with a valid vehicle sticker. If there is any quantity of paint remaining in the can you must put in an additive such as kitty litter to solidify the paint.

• Oil Paint: Oil paint is a hazardous material. See “Hazardous Waste” section above.

Printers

Accepted at the Kent Farm Transfer Station with a valid vehicle sticker.

Propane tanks

Empty propane tanks can be brought to the Kent Farm Transfer Station with a valid sticker.

Refrigerator

Accepted at Kent Farm Transfer Station with a valid vehicle sticker in addition to $20 in landfill dollar coupons which must be purchased at the town hall PRIOR to going to the Kent Farm Transfer Station.

Roofing Material

Snow blowers

Accepted at the Kent Farm Transfer Station with a valid vehicle sticker. All oil and gasoline must be removed.

Stereo/Radio

Stereos/radios can be disposed of at the Kent Farm Transfer Station with a valid vehicle sticker. .

Thermostats & Thermometers

Accepted at hazardous waste day.

Tires

Car & light pick-up truck tires can only be disposed at the Kent Farm Transfer Station with a valid vehicle sticker in addition to $4 (per tire, no rims) in landfill dollar coupons, which must be purchased at town hall PRIOR to going to the Kent Farm Transfer Station.
