To ensure the safe and enjoyable use of the hot tub we request that you read and follow the guidance of this safety document before use.

During pregnancy and for persons with heart disease, diabetes, low or high blood pressure, or any serious illness should not enter the hot tub without prior consultation with their doctor.

People with skin, ear, genital or other body infections, open sores, or wounds should not use the hot tub because of the possibility of spreading infection.

The heat of the hot tub water speeds up the effects of alcohol and can cause sleepiness, dizziness and unconsciousness. Never use the hot tub after a heavy meal or exercise as the water temperature can affect the heart rate or while using narcotics or other drugs that may cause sleepiness, drowsiness or raise/lower blood pressure.

Showering before use washes away many of the common skin bacteria and removes lotions, deodorants, and creams etc., which reduce the effectiveness of the hot tub sanitizer

All our hot tubs are set at 37 C for your arrival and we recommend that this temperature should not be exceeded.

At 37 C you are advised to limit your time in the hot tub to a maximum of 15 minutes as extending this time can affect your inner organs and cause fever-like conditions. This is a guide only as individual tolerances will vary.

Excessive exposure to the hot tub can increase the risk of allergic reactions and skin complaints. If any allergic reaction occurs leave the hot tub and rinse off in the shower. Contact Reception and stop anyone else from using the hot tub until it has been checked.

If you notice any deterioration or discolouration of the water DO NOT USE the hot tub and contact Reception for a sanitation check.

Do not immerse your head in the hot tub water. This increases the risk of infection and can heighten the dangers of drowning due to suction below the water line.

Never allow children to use the hot tub unsupervised and when not in use make sure the cover is on, secure and locked and never use the hot tub alone. Hot tubs are not recommended for children under the age of four. Children should not allow water in their mouths as this can cause infection and illness.

Take care when entering and leaving the hot tub and on the decking areas which can be slippery when wet. When leaving the hot tub leg muscles may be relaxed enough to make you unsteady.

Never use glass near/in the hot tub as broken glass is a serious hazard and very difficult to detect in water. Please use plastic glasses/cups. Do not use any electrical appliances near/in the hot tub.

Do not turn hot tub isolation switch off, as the hot tubs power needs to be turned on to carry out the cleaning cycles.

Please let us know if you need fresh water added to the hot tub as this will dilute the sanitizer and the hot tub will, therefore needs to be retreated and tested.

Ensure no contaminants i.e.; bubble bath, alcohol, oils etc., are placed in the water as this can upset the chemical balance of the water and the effective sanitation of the water and can result in allergic reactions. A contaminated tub will need to be shut down and cleaned at an additional cost.

Please do not sit on the plastic lid that covers the filter or the hot tub cover, as both are fragile. If any fault or damage occurs with the hot tub please contact Reception immediately. You will be responsible for any damage from misuse or neglect.

For the comfort of all guests and neighbour’s we ask that hot tubs are not used after 12 midnight.

OUR HOT TUBS ARE DESIGNED FOR UP TO 6 PEOPLE ONLY TO USE AT A TIME.

DAMAGE CAN OCCUR IF MORE PEOPLE THAN THIS ATTEMPT TO USE THE TUB AND WE MAY THERFORE NEED TO PASS ON REPAIR COSTS TO YOU

IMPORTANT: if the hot tub needs to be shut down due to misuse it will incur a £50 charge to refill

NOTE FOR PARENTS: The life and health of you, your family and friends are important. Please supervise your hot tub.

PLEASE NOTE: To comply with best practice the hot tub water is checked every morning usually before 9am. Please ensure the hot tub is not in use & any pet is kept clear of the hot tub prior to this time to allow this testing and any required treatment to be carried out. Occasionally we may need to carry out further tests, we will try to do this without disturbing guests but please allow our staff to complete these essential tests.
