This auction is for a very nice Ovation Pacemaker 12 string guitar. This guitar was made in 1981 and has a serial number of 229283. It is in very good condition and sounds incredible. This is an acoustic only guitar (no electronics).

This guitar is a non-cutaway, deep bowl guitar. The neck is joined to the body at the 12th fret. It has the classic slothead headstock that looks so awesome. The top of the guitar has mellowed to a beautiful golden hue. The fretboard is marked by daimonds and circles in a simple but classy layout. The neck is a 5 piece. The neck is straight as an arrow and the top has no cracks in the wood. The binding is perfect all the way around. This is one beautiful guitar!

This guitar is easily played with low action and an incredible tone. There's something about these older Ovations that sounds simply beautiful. While the frets do show some wear, it doesn't affect the playability (is that a word?) of the guitar.

As for imperfections, there is a 1/4 inch chip in the finish of the headstock at the very top and a few cracks in the finish (not the wood) on the guitar top. Obviously this does not affect the sound of the guitar at all and, the cracks are typical of older Ovations. In my opinion they only add to the beauty of the instrument (sort of like wrinkles on our faces!).
