Senior Public Works Maintenance Worker

The City of Fort Lupton is seeking applications for a full-time Senior Public Works Maintenance Worker. Prior experience in streets or water/waste water collection and/or distribution is required.

SUMMARY: Receives general supervision from the Public Works Director and Public Works Supervisor and Lead Worker. Performs a variety of customer service and preventative maintenance duties in the maintenance of City public infrastructure and property.

Required:

· Minimum of Three years Public Works experience.

· High school graduate or general education degree (GED), preferred.

· Demonstrated leadership skills.

· Possess a class “B” Colorado operators (drivers) license. Tanker and air brake endorsement.

· Ability to read and understand procedure manuals, operating and maintenance instructions, safety rules.

· Ability to interact in a courteous manner and be able to explain problems, plans, procedures to residents, business owners, developers, contractors, builders and other City employees.

· Ability to teach policies and procedures.

· Ability and willingness to give clear directions and address poor performance issues.

· Collection and Distribution certification 1

Preferred:

· Two-year experience operating heavy machinery such as backhoes, front end loaders, skid steers and sewer cleaning machines.

· Two years experience repairing water, sewer lines and basic street repair and maintenance.

· Confined space certification

· Flagger certification

· CPR Certified

· Bi-lingual in Spanish
