What can they do? (Powers) / Make suggestions for laws
Make sure that the laws are carried out. / Make new laws and change existing laws
Raise Taxes / Make new laws and change existing laws
Raise Taxes / They decide if the laws of the state are fair (constitutional) or not (unconstitutional)
How can they check the powers of the other branches? / Gov. can veto a bill (Act) / Override the Governor’s veto with a 2/3 majority.
