Mansur Ahmad R.I.P. / Deacon Aidan writes:
We heard last week in the Gospel about how productive being fed by God can be. The meal provided by Jesus was both fulfilling and plentiful. When everyone had eaten and were finished people gave back more than they had eaten. In this week’s Gospel we hear about the bread of life – Jesus gave us so much, he showed us the way, how we should lead our lives. So perhaps we should ask ourselves this question - when is the last time each of us gave back more than we received? Food for thought?
Continuing last week’s theme about our faith. When we enter a church we should always bless ourselves with Holy Water. This represents our baptism in Father, Son and Holy Spirit, the life blood flowing through and from our lives. If for some reason there is no Holy Water, please remind me or Hugh.
People not only celebrate the Mass - many also wish to pray in the church. The ancient synagogues had multiple areas, however, the inner area was an area that was always peaceful and quiet. For many of us we forget that whilst we are talking before and after Mass (however quietly) there are many who just wish to sit and pray or reflect.
A reminder that this weekend, at all Masses, there will be an opportunity to financially contribute as a parish to the celebrations we enjoyed in May at the time of Hugh’s 30th Anniversary of his Ordination through the taking of a second collection.
Finally, grateful thanks to our visiting priests who have been with us for the past few weeks during Hugh’s absence. He will be back with us next weekend.

Gideon's 300 Catholic
Street Prayer Group
Gideon's 300 is a new Catholic Street Prayer group that meets every third Sunday of the month in London. The aim of the group is to pray publicly, as an act of solidarity with all persecuted Christians around the world, to pray to ask God to forgive all those who are persecuting Christians and to make a public witness of our Catholic faith. Catholics of all ages are welcome, and from all Catholic vocations; single laity, married laity, religious and clergy.
Our next meeting is on Sunday 16th August. We will meet at 2pm, inside
the public chapel of Tyburn Convent,
8 Hyde Park Place, Bayswater Road, London W2 2LJ, for shared Eucharistic Adoration. At 2.30pm we walk to Hyde Park, near Speakers Corner, to set up. At 3pm we begin the public group Divine Mercy Prayer followed by the Most Holy Rosary. Finish at 4pm.
Please contact Brendan McInerney () if you have any questions, or just come along and join us on the day. / Lourdes Fundraising
A big thank you to those who have contributed in any way to the Lourdes fundraising activites this year. £43,000 has been collected , which means many sick, frail and disabled people can go to France this year. 700 pilgrims began travelling on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to join pilgrims from around the world at the Grotto for six days. Be assured you will be prayed for, in Thanksgiving, for your help and generosity.
