Diligence: The Nature of our Movement
The movement, among many things is surprising, exciting, and inspiring. What we want is clear. We want less intrusive government, less confiscatory taxes, and stronger defense of our people and our sovereignty. We want character and morality in the halls of all congressional bodies, and we expect honesty and integrity from our elected representatives. We want our tax dollars to be used appropriately on items such as national defense, infrastructure, and protection from enemies, foreign and domestic. The Constitution allows for spending in these areas to promote sovereignty and tranquility and for the aforementioned reasons, we consent to giving a portion of the fruits of our labor. We want our government to resemble a government more akin to the government established by the Constitution of the United States of America. The Constitution rejects the redistribution of wealth, it rejects government involvement in the private sector, and it rejects the notion of a living, breathing document.
Our government has infiltrated too far into our private lives. For that reason, we gather in protest to repel the forces of big government and reinstate small government philosophy which has served us so well for so long. The Constitution is designed to protect us from tyranny, placing enumerated rights in the hands of the federal government, and all powers not given, are retained by the states and by the people. We know that the Constitution is not to be manipulated or ignored. We know that it is to be adhered to and revered as a wise document that provides the blue print for individual liberty and greatness.
How then, have we reached this age of the welfare state? How is it that the few are subsidizing the many? How can we sustain this era of bailouts, stimulus, and socialist leadership without destroying the very institutions that made the United States the envy of the world? We know that we cannot remain on this path for long, lest we lose the country that we love. We must speak these things of which we know to be true at the top of our lungs, however loudly we must, and for however long it takes, until our voices are heard and our influence is strong.
Therein lays the task. How loud will we be and for how long? I submit to you that this movement demands a tremendous amount of effort, diligence, and time. Effort to expend your time, diligence to remain confident during a difficult journey, and time to get the message out and start winning hearts, minds, and of course, power. This movement may catch fire quickly, or it may simmer for awhile, bubbling over at times, dissipating at others. Whether we win quickly or slowly, we must know that we will win the day eventually.
Power may not come in 2010, 2012, 2014, or 2016. But our ideas are the best ideas, our principles are the strongest principles, and our values are the wisest values. We will beat our drum loudly, even louder in the face of disappointment. This type of intrinsic drive and persistent attitude is the only route to meaningful results. When we peacefully elect those that echo the sentiments of limited government principles, we must then hold them to account. Without the diligence of the people serving to be a check on governmental power, we will lose to those who wish for more government intrusion.
Those that belittle our cause; the Progressives, statists, pundits, media outlets, celebrities, and even sometimes friends and family, will surely counter our movement. We will be portrayed as racists, bigots, homophobes, zealots, fear-mongers, Nazis, sexists, hateful, backwards, and according to the Department of Homeland Security under Janet Napalatano, extremists and terrorists. This is a misleading attempt to turn the general population against us, and therefore turn the general population against our founding principles and freedoms. Let there be no doubt that we are on the right side of history, and those that oppose us either knowingly or unknowingly oppose the very ideals that have led us to enjoy the highest standard of living in the history of humanity.
Against such opposition, we will remain resolute in our ambitions because we know that racial and gender divisions and discriminations are the direct result of progressive ideals and policies. We know that the preservation of the sanctity of marriage between man and woman is not born out of hatred for homosexuals, but out of love for the bedrock of our society, the family. We will contest knowing that being anti-abortion is not an act of religious zealotry, but an act of humanity that recognizes the gift of conception, the beauty of development, and the potential of all human life in all of its various stages; from conception to death. We know that Progressives long for larger federal bureaucracies that provide for, and ration goods to the people. In that, we understand that their prevailing philosophy represents the tyranny of fascism, communism, and Nazism. Ours cannot represent these human catastrophes, for our philosophy promotes life, liberty, and happiness. Our philosophy is that of our founding fathers, in direct opposition to any form of tyranny.
We recognize that those that oppose our philosophy are the extremists in this country. They wish to modify or overthrow the government described in the Constitution of the United States of America, thus undermining the supreme law of our land. They wish to topple our institutions of marriage, personal liberties, and private sector capitalism. They wish to undo the very things that made us the envy of humanity. Still, if we must be charged with “extremism” in defense of our liberating Constitution, we respond with Marcus Tullius Cicero by saying, “Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice…” Moreover, extremism in the advance of tyranny is no honorable endeavor.
Notice that liberty is to be defended and tyranny is to be advanced. This is the nature of our struggle. The principles of freedom are pitted against the false dream of an egalitarian society. The salesman of a utopian society appeal to our imaginations and utopian dreams with charm and rhetoric, however these salesmen almost inevitably turn into tyrants and dictators. As we have not done our due diligence to defend our liberties, forces of tyranny have advanced.
Since advancing to objectives is the goal of tyranny, it tends to remain stagnant and therefore oppressive upon achieving its goals. Tyranny trades a vibrant existence for a shackled spirit and by its very nature is anti-American. By contrast, liberty has no end goal. It must remain alert and flexible; its tenets must be understood and adhered to by the vast majority of the population. However powerful liberty may be, it requires a population to nurture and defend its complex and fragile existence. Since liberty is a natural right of humankind, it favors none and provides opportunity for all.
When a population lets down its guard over liberty, the forces of tyranny push through her walls, and an oppressive cloud looms over that population. We understand this threat, and for that reason we must remain resolute and alert not for days, weeks, years, or election cycles, but rather for as long as the forces of tyranny may exist. The truth is that the tyrannical inclinations of power will always be with us, and for that reason we must remain in defense of liberty forever.
Power, and its inherent evils, has plagued mankind since the dawn of human life. Even when power is seized on the side of the people, it seduces its new owners by telling them that “the people love you, you can do what you please.” Power can convince a man that he is somehow superior in every way, over everybody, and over every thing. This unfortunate pull can lead the powerful to see those that he is supposed to represent and protect as mere things, objects, or subjects. It is this inclination of power that gave us Nazism, fascism, communism, Islamo-fascism, slavery, and the loss of hundreds of millions of lives through holocaust or slaughter.
If on the side of liberty, one fears the dark side of power, but embraces the potential for good that power possesses. While tyrannical elements use power to advance, forces of liberty must power to defend. We must use power to defend ourselves from foreign invaders that threaten our sovereignty, from domestic threats that would steal from us, take us as hostages, or take our lives. Power must be used to defend our Constitution in its original intent. We have so far strayed from the principles and intent of our Constitution, that power must now be used to reduce the power of government in the United States.
For reasons described throughout this writing, this movement must reach the ranks of power. Through effort, diligence, and time, power gained for the purpose of power reduction will be realized. We will organize in groups, we will speak what we know to be true at every opportunity, we will create static in the power lines of Progressive advances. We will have slogans and rallying cries, we will be creative in our approach, and we will use all of the tools of those that oppose us against them. We will influence government not by financial deals or secret pacts, but by living the principles and values that we claim to hold.
This movement depends of the fortitude of individuals and can only grow through the independent efforts of each one of us. Individualism and freedom are often difficult, grinding, and challenging values to adhere to. For this reason, our movement is likely to be difficult, grinding and challenging. However our nation was founded upon the struggle, enlightenment, diligence, and eventual rewards of self-reliance. If we hold true to the principles of our founding, we too, shall be rewarded.
Upon this we recognize the nature of our struggle. We recognize the difficulties and disappointments that will come. But we do not recognize the inevitability of an oppressive government. Rather, we reject it in all its various forms. We recognize the need for principled people to band together in defense of our society. We humbly recognize that we are the people that our founding fathers wrote the constitution for. We are the last line of defense for the nation of freedom and opportunity for all that our founders envisioned.
Lastly, we recognize that this movement is eternal and just. Let it be said that our movement is a flash in the pan, tailor made to fade from memory. Let it be said that our movement will not last long, and that it is the helpless cry of the few. We know that we are the many. We represent free people, and we are right. We know that this movement has only just begun.

The Nine Principles
1. America is good.
2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.
3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.
4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.
5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.
6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.
7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.
8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.
9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.
