The Sidney Fire and Emergency Services Department is NOW HIRING!

Minimum Qualifications:

· High school Diploma or GED equivalent.

· At least 18 years of age and no more than 41 years of age at the time of appointment.

· Have or be able to obtain a valid Ohio Driver's License.

Application and Testing Process:

· Complete application, available at City Hall (201 West Poplar) or online at http://www.sidneyoh.com/Human_Resources/Employment-sidney-ohio.asp

· Successfully pass Civil Service Entrance Examination (details below) and selection process. (Bonus points earned with military service, degrees, fire and EMS certifications.)

· National Testing Network is a service provided to conduct entry level testing in a standardized, professional environment. National Testing Network does not replace the Sidney Fire and Emergency Services Department’s responsibility and decision making in the testing process. All candidate results are provided to Sidney Fire and Emergency Services Department where the final decisions are made.

BEFORE June 30, 2017 APPLICANTS MUST COMPLETE ALL OF THE FOLLOWING:

· CITY OF SIDNEY APPLICATION PACKET COMPLETED AND TURNED INTO THE CITY

· REGISTER WITH THE NATIONAL TESTING NETWORK (NTN) AND COMPLETE THE TEST AT ONE OF THE NATIONAL TESTING NETWORK TESTING SITES

Civil Service Entrance Exam –

· Complete the application process –

o select ‘Firefighter ‘

o sign up for the ‘Sidney Fire and Emergency Services Department’

o Testing fees will be the applicant’s responsibility

Before Testing, please be sure to:

· Review all information related to the Sidney Fire and Emergency Services Department Firefighter position, including minimum requirements, salary and benefits.

· Detailed information about the testing process for the entry level test.

· Online practice tests at www.frontlinetest.com

· Schedule your own test time based on the NTN set schedule. Locally, the testing sites and testing times are:

- Piqua - Edison CC East Hall - Fire

· May 24th - 4:00PM

· June 13th - 6:00PM

· June 21st - 5:00PM

- Dayton - Sinclair Community College Criminal Justice Training Academy, Bldg 19

· May 9th - 2:00PM or 6:00PM

· May 23rd – 2:00PM or 6:00PM

· June 6th - 2:00PM or 6:00PM

· June 20th - 2:00PM or 6:00PM

· If you are not located in the Dayton, Ohio region, schedule with the NTN for a location, dates, and test times.

· Take high quality job simulation tests in a standardized, fair testing environment.

After National Testing

· Upon completion of the entry level exam all candidate scores are automatically forwarded to the Sidney Fire and Emergency Services Department.

· Candidates who attain a passing score on the entry level exam will be required to successfully complete the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) test with the Miami Valley Fire/EMS Alliance.

· All CPAT fess are covered by the City of Sidney

· The CPAT exam will be scheduled with the Miami Valley Fire/EMS Alliance and candidates will be notified.
