The City of Walterboro is seeking a Director of Finance and Administration. Position reports to the City Manager and is responsible for administration of the Finance, Utility Billing, and Judicial departments.

Position will require extensive knowledge of the principals and practices of public finance and governmental accounting. Duties include supervising the financial activities of the City; preparation of annual budget; grant administration; audit preparation; oversight of the City’s human resources management function; oversight of clerk of court activities; oversight of water, sewer, and garbage collection billing activities and, performing various projects for the City Manager.

Desirable education and experience: graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in finance, accounting, business or public administration and three years responsible accounting experience and three years management experience, governmental accounting a plus. Salary Range: $51,316 - $83,588. Applicants should expect to start near the beginning of the range depending on experience.
