BOD Meeting 12/14/15
The board was given a summary of the information found on the economic development survey. Discussion was held on what direction to take the chamber and revival of the chamber with a new outlook.
Ideas for events for next year were discussed and the committees were revised to remove old events, and then add new events.
The by-laws were discussed and simplified. The Articles of Organization were discussed and simplified. The board passed all revisions. The by-laws will be added to the website once the revisions are done.
The annual meeting was discussed. Corinne is going to call or meet with as many businesses as possible. Information on the businesses and store fronts will be made into a power point that will be run at the event. The power point will continue to be developed after the meeting. Social, Hors d’oeuvres, presentation and the meeting will be on Jan. 23rd at 6:30 @ Kimball Legion Hall.
The school would like us to do the hospitality rooms again. Sign-up sheets will be passed around at the annual meeting.
It was discussed to get all groups in Kimball to help on clean up days in town, to take more pride in our town. The city will be asked to get us the dates sooner, so that it can be organized.
Other ideas discussed included: Honey Days Festival/Ag days, Community Facebook Vote for Kimball Pride Award and Volunteer of the Year Award.
Positions up for this year are Corinne Overweg’ s , Theresa Bass’s and Cheri Eimers’ s.
Chamberlain is having a Job Fair in the spring primarily focusing on part time employers, but anyone can participate. More information will be given out as it is available.
