Dear ,

Allow me to introduce myself. I am Holly Currie, membership director of The American College of Epidemiology (ACE). I attended the 2016 Americas Congress of Epidemiology in Miami, Florida this past June. I noticed that you were not a member of ACE and would like to take a minute to tell you about the College.

The American College of Epidemiology is an organization of epidemiologists serving the interests of the profession and its members through advocating for issues pertinent to epidemiology; a credential-based admission and promotion process; sponsorship of scientific meetings; publications and educational activities; and recognizing outstanding contributions to the field.

We are offering an opportunity for you, your colleagues and students to become members of ACE. Please consider applying to the College for membership. To apply, please visit here.

We are asking you also to recommend up to 20 epidemiology professionals and students so that we may reach out to them encouraging them to apply to the College. There are many benefits that College can offer to enhance the epidemiological profession, and we would be pleased to share them with as many people in our field as possible. To suggest worthy candidates, please use this link. We will then reach out to the individual to give information regarding the College.

The Annals of Epidemiology is the official publication of the American College of Epidemiology, published monthly by Elsevier. The Annals of Epidemiology is a peer-reviewed, international journal devoted to epidemiologic research and methodological development. In the spirit of supporting high-quality epidemiologic research that is carefully reported and addresses questions of substantial public health or methodological significance, the American College of Epidemiology awards an annual prize of $3,000 to the first author of the manuscript chosen as the best article in the journal each year. Click here to view the current and former winners of the Annals of Epidemiology Outstanding Article Award.

ACE provides its members with several meeting and convention opportunities each year. Our members can attend these events at a discounted member rate. This year ACE’s annual meeting will be held at Westin Hotel at the Canal in New Orleans, Louisiana from Sunday, September 24 through Tuesday, September 26, 2017. The topic of the meeting will be the Methods of Translating and Disseminating Epidemiology into Public Health.

Membership in the American College of Epidemiology is available at three levels: Fellows, Members, and Associate Members. The level of membership is determined through the admissions process. You will find the membership application and list of benefits by clicking here.

The ACE Board of Directors hopes that you consider applying to the College, and that you will share contact with information for your colleagues and students so that we can encourage them too to apply. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any further questions or concerns.

Thank you,

Holly Currie
