Dear Grade 10 Mini School Students and Parents/Guardians:
Our trip to the Ashland Oregon Shakespeare Festival has been booked for Monday, September 25 - Friday, September 29, 2017. Ashland is located on the Oregon/California border, and is a town built completely around the theatre industry. Students will be attending five plays, two of which will be staged in a full outdoor replica of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, and participating in a multimedia tour with one of the actors. Please see the attached itinerary for details.
Your child’s yearly Enrichment Fee will cover the cost of the Ashland field trip for the 2017/18 school year. In order to secure tickets and accommodation we will require a $100.00 deposit payable by cheque made out to Templeton Secondary School by June 2. The confirmed Payment Schedule will be sent home with the necessary forms and other communication at the end of August. The balance will be due on Wednesday, September 6th. All cheques should be made payable to Templeton Secondary School.
Ashland is a recommended field trip for all grade 11 students. However, if your child is not going to participate, please explain the circumstances in writing to Ms. Vadacchino. It is expected that you inform the school no later than Friday June 2nd. Students who elect not to attend the trip are expected to attend all other classes, and alternate activities will be provided during Mini class times. Students not participating will increase the cost per student.
Students must have a valid passport in order to cross the US border. Please act on this now in order to avoid problems having it issued on time. The school will need a photocopy of your child’s passport before the end of June.
Travel medical insurance will be provided by Manulife with no deductible and 5,000,000.00 coverage per person. If your child has a pre-existing health condition, please notify us as soon as possible as it may affect the cost and coverage.
