A Driving Derby competition consists of one or more rounds over a course consisting of pairs ofcones and marathon-type obstacles. This is an informal competition outdoors on grass.

Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult in all classes. Helmets are required for all, protective vests/back protectors highly recommended.

DIVISIONS

Horse Novice or Pony Novice Any person or equine that has never shown in combined driving or competes at Training levels. There will be no cantering.

Horse Open or Pony Open: For any person or equine who has competed in multiple CDE’s at upper levels. (Prelim and above).

OPEN AND CLOSING DATES- Entries are open any time, will close the day of the event. Entries may be limited. Please RSVP by Wednesday, September 16 to Maureen Foright at if you know you are coming but have not mailed in an entry.

INFO There will be briefing on Saturday morning 8 AM. We will review rules and answer any questions. The course will be open for walk through till 9 AM. NO TURN OUT! Competitors may wear informal attire, but whips & helmets are mandatory. Protective vests/back protectors are highly recommended. Each horse may be entered in only one CDE level for the overall championship. Drivers may enter more than one level with different horses.

FEES: $45 includes 2 lunch tickets. $30 for additional entries with same driver and navigator. $10 for extra lunch tickets

OBSTACLE INFORMATION- All divisions will include an obstacle & cones combination. Each division will drive the same route & combination, but with different times. Surface is grass.

STABLING- $25 per day; - stall includes NO bedding- may be purchased from nearby tack store, closes at 5pm. VERY LIMITED STABLING.

Release of Liability

This form must be signed by every competition participant or if a minor, their parent, including each person who rides with a driver on a carriage not only during the actual Schooling Event/Derby but including any time from arrival at the Schooling Event /Derby to departure. I understand that neither the Lucky Charm Farm, or Team Sterling LLC, the Schooling Event/Derby (“Schooling Event/Derby”), event judges, volunteers, nor the Lucky Charm Farm, property owner, managers, or employees accept any responsibility for accidents, damage, injury or illness to the horses, owners, drivers, grooms and/or guests in connection with this Schooling Event/Derby. I hereby expressly agree for myself and my principals, representative, and guests: (1) to be bound by the rules of this Schooling Event/Derby; (2) that every horse, driver and groom is eligible as entered; and (3) and to accept as final any decision of the event judges. I am fully aware that horse sports, including driving in this particular event involve inherent dangerous risk of serious injury or death. By participating I do so voluntarily and expressly assume any and all risks of injury to me or loss of my horse(s) or equipment. I agree to release Lucky Charm Farm and Team Sterling LLC its owner and agents, employees and agents, event judges, volunteers, from and against all claims for money damages, for any action taken or otherwise any harm caused by me or my horse to others, including whether arising from directly or indirectly from the negligence of Lucky Charm Farm, or Team Sterling LLC or the Schooling Event/Derby. I agree to indemnify (that is, to pay any losses, damages, or costs incurred by) and hold the Lucky Charm Farm and Team Sterling LLC, its owner, managers, employees harmless from any and all claims for loss or injury caused by me or my horse that occur during or in conjunction with this Schooling Event/Derby.
