Disgrifio Gwallt (Describing Hair)

Aim

To practise describing hair colour and style.

Preparatory Work

Pupils will need to be familiar with:
·  the language pattern Mae gan … wallt … (… has … hair)
·  adjectives: byr (short), hir (long), pigog (spiky), cyrliog (curly), syth (straight)
·  colours
Content
One activity based on the above language. This activity should be introduced on the interactive whiteboard.
Activities
Screen 1

·  Whole Class

Pupils to come up to the white board and drag wigs onto the characters of Aaron and Ceri. Then, pupils to complete the sentences by dragging the words from the boxes into the spaces so they match the faces. The whole class to read out the sentences aloud.
·  Paired work on stand alone computers
Pupils to work in pairs taking turns to drag the wigs and create sentences. They can print out their work if required or save using a different file name.
