1. COMPANY BACKGROUND

Uniqon Wonings (Pty) Ltd was founded in 1985 by Mr. HJJ Bendeman.

Uniqon has undoubtedly established itself as a specialist and leader within various fields of expertise. These include being project managers as well as property developers. We have successfully managed the construction of shopping centres, office parks, housing schemes and residential estates. Our reputation, skills, leadership and expertise are clearly visible in the completed projects.

We approach our projects from the perspective of the end-users, real lifestyle needs and requirements. We endevour to meet our deadlines. We pride ourselves that we never miss a final milestone. Our business is not about bricks and mortar, but concerns itself with people of flesh and blood who must provide not only for themselves, but also for their dependants.

Our operation is lean and focused. We limit overheads to the minimum and are totally focused on cutting superfluous costs. We are therefore able to Extract the maximum value from our resources. We make a single brick go further than almost anybody that we know of in our industry.

We have surrounded ourselves with an experienced and competent team of professionals in all fields. With their valued contribution we not only address the estetic and financial issues but also the socio-economic and environmental issues.

12. FINANCIAL CAPACITY

Uniqon is currently developing projects in excess of R350.0 M per annum.

The funding of our developments is based on 40 % own funding and 60 % external funding by one of the major financial institutions.

13. AFFIRMATIVE ACTION

It is our policy to give preference to previously disadvantaged sub-contractors and provide them with on the job training. We insist that our sub-contractors and suppliers have the same approach. The objective is to develop artisans and a labor of work force with the required skills and expertise to maintain high standards.

It is our current practice to make use of labour intensive building methods that enable us to create job opportunities for the local communities.

We are committed to the employment of people from the local community.
