Upon arrival in Taos and checking in at your lodging choice, consider photographing the
Rancho de Taos church, old nearby buildings, and the plaza area. Regular pueblo hours for tourists: 8: a.m. - 4:30 p.m. PURCHASE of PHOTO PERMIT ($6/person) +/or ENTRY ($10/person) are REQRD.

6:45 – 8:15 Photograph the famous Rancho de Taos Church. Play with time exposures, night
photography as desired. Nearby is the old Llano Quemado cemetery (off Ranchos de
Taos at Hilltop Rd & Old Santa Fe Trail). Or choose to capture mages of people, gardens,
buildings and activity on the Plaza in early evening light.

5:30 – 7:30 am Meet at the Overland Sheepskin parking lot (3 mi. north of Taos on Hwy 522) to walk
trails and capture sunrise landscape photos.
Following this early shoot, we will drive to Taos Pueblo, convening at the entrance about
7:45 am to purchase $6 pp photo permits & $10 pp entrance fees. Enter the pueblo at 8:00
for photo ops. Please familiarize yourselves with all regulations and follow all guidelines

Convene early to accommodate getting to our sunset shooting site to capture surrounding
landscapes with moonrise and sunset. SPECIAL GROUP BUFFET ($15/pp): vegetarian
green chile corn cheese enchilada OR veggie burger OR red chile free-range chicken
enchilada with side salad garnish, beans, rice, iced tea or lemonade, melon. Alternatively,
you can order off the menu, too, but what a great deal--prearranged by the chef just for us!

6:15-8:30 pm SUNSET SHOOT – Meet 6:15 pm at the public parking lot across from the Plaza at
Kit Carson & Paseo Pueblo del Norte. We will CARPOOL to the Penitente Morada (La
Morada de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe) if it is accessible (or another fabulous
location, if the first is unavailable), led by Victoria Saavedra Stamm. Respectful church
etiquette is essential! Well-known photographers Geraint Smith and/or Steve Bundy may
join us.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
1) You MUST purchase a photographer’s permit ($6) to shoot on the pueblo, in addition to paying a $10pp entry fee. We will get a general model release for the group’s Saturday evening shoot on Taos Pueblo, but you may want to bring several copies of your own model release forms, as well.
