1.   DRIVER must carry copy of permit, stop at all open weigh stations, and drive with headlights on at all times.

2.   DRIVER may travel at posted speeds.

3.   VEHICLE must have a clearly readable “OVERSIZE” signs on the front and rear and an amber beacon.

HAY SECUREMENT ATTACHMENT S

Special Hay Bales Securement

Cylindrical Bales

1.  Frame extension (side boards, stakes, and rear endgate, endboard or stakes ) shall be used on semi-trailers and trailers when loaded to a maximum of 10’ overall width. Theses extensions must be removed or folded up to legal width when travelling empty.

2.  Each of the first and last single or stack of bales requires two tiedowns, unless these front and rear bales are prohibited from movement by a form of bulkhead or stakes, in which case only one tiedown is sufficient

3.  Dunnage should be used. If not, one longitudinal tiedown should extend from the front of the load to the rear on each row of round bales.

4.  Total tarping with top dunnage at both ends of the load. Securing cargo by using tiedwon at every 10 linear feet.

5.  All these devices shall meet the strength and requirements of 49 CFR section 393, subpart I & J.

Rectangular Bales

1.  Total tarping with top dunnage at both ends of the load, and two longitudinal tiedowns from the front to the rear over the entire load.
