Starmodel face candidates selected

The first batch of the official candidates of the ongoing search for Mr. & Ms. Starmodel Face Canada was selected recently. The selection was made during the two screenings held last July 9 and 23, 2005 at The Gateway Centre for New Canadians in Mississauga and at Gold Ribbon Restaurant and Banquet Hall in Scarborough, respectively.
The first thirteen (13) official candidates were selected from among the almost forty aspiring applicants who attended the said two screenings. Those who were chosen and officially admitted are Samantha Nieto, Jennifer Burland, Joyce Nefulda, Carla Ocampo, Caren Jean Oliver, Katrina Estacio, Rachel Aline Salud, Cohen Spencer, Hansel Jake Floreno, Raffy Joseph Padua, Rae Ocampo, Karl Mark Oliver, and Miguel Alfonso Carino.
The screening of all the applicants was conducted individually. Each was asked the standard screening questions and other specific questions that pertain to their personal characteristics by the screener. The objective of the said screening is to test their interest, willingness, and determination in joining the said search. If selected as official candidates, they will be joining the different pre-pageant activities scheduled the whole month of September, 2005 and will undergo a series of workshops/seminars aside from the scheduled production rehearsals.
The search will have three major events that will display the many facets of all the candidates. On October 1, 2005, all the candidates will show off their talents for the talent award which will be held at The Gateway Center for New Canadians located at 3450 Wolfedale Road, Mississauga L5C 2V6. The next weekend, October 8, 2005, the candidates will sashay on the ramp highlighting the collection of the labels of Pidro and Inday to be held at the Ramada Hotel located at Toronto-Don Valley 185 Yorkland Blvd. , Toronto, Ontario. The member of the board of judges will also officially select the magic 10 on that night which will be announced on the grand finals.
Winners of the search will be announced on the grand finals scheduled on October 15, 2005 also to be held at the Ramada Hotel. The two major winners will be flown in the Philippines courtesy of Rejoice Holidays, Inc., an affiliate of American Express Travel Services.
In the Philippines, they will be given a minimum guaranteed P250, 000.00 advertising contract courtesy of Imaj Production Motives, a modeling agency under the umbrella of the Talent Agents Organization (TAO) and its service unit Manila Model Center (MMC). Imaj is one of the accredited modeling agencies under the Advertising Suppliers Association of the Philippines (ASAP). They will also have a pictorial session with Mr. Dominique James, one of the top fashion photographers in the Philippines, who will be doing their models portfolio, which is the basic requirement from a model. During their stay in the Philippines, The Mabuhay Manor, an affiliate hotel of The Legend Villas, will become their official residence. A complete wardrobe will also be provided by Sabella Fashion Boutique owned by Mr. Ramon Sabella.
They will have a total makeover thru Meinard Gicommo Facial and Beauty House, a popular beauty expert who handled many showbiz and popular television personalities. They will also be pampered by using the facilities of Brickroad Fitness where they can stretch their muscles and have a relaxing massage and avail of the other services of Aspen Spas. The search is also presented by UMAC Express Cargo, Ethnic Channels Group/The Mabuhay Channel, and Dr. Eric Domingo & AssociatesKenway Dental Care.
For those who are still interested to join the search, they can still file their application for the selection of the second batch on or before August 13, 2005 or they can just come to the screening and bring with them a certified true copy of birth certificate and two (2) recent 5X7 colored photos full body and close-up shots. The final screening is scheduled on August 20, 2005 to be held at The Gateway Center for New Canadians, 3450 Wolfedale Road, Mississauga L5C 2V6 and on August 21, 2005 at Gold Ribbon Restaurant and Banquet Hall on 3477 Kennedy Road, Scarborough.
