St. Joseph’s Young Priests Society
Mass will be offered for the intentions of members of St. Joseph’s Young Priests Society on Monday 12th Jan at 10 o’clock. A meeting will take place in the Chapel of Reconciliation, after the Rosary.
South East Competitive Feasibility Fund
I recently launched a new fund called the South East Competitive Feasibility Fund worth €200,000. Applications for the fund must be done online and can be found on www.Enterprise-Ireland.ie. Killoughternane Drama Group present the comedy 'Out of Order'
The cast of Killoughternane drama group are pleased to announce that this year’s play is a comedy called Out of Order written by playwright Ray Cooney. It is a farce based on the affairs of a junior minister in the government.
The play takes the stage on Fri 23, Sat 24, and Sun 25. The show starts at 20.15 sharp. Arrive early to insure a seat. It is sure to be a sell-out.

Lynda and David, together with the Redmond and Ryan families, would like to acknowledge the kindness and support shown to us during the recent tragic loss of Róisín.
We would like to express our deepest thanks to everybody who supported us through this difficult time. Thank you to the communities of Graiguenamanagh and Borris. We are forever grateful especially to our friends, neighbours, work colleagues and to those who travelled long distances.
We give a special word of thanks to Dr. Val Lonergan and Caitríona the nurse .Thanks to the paramedics and staff of Waterford Regional Hospital.
To Fr. Byrne, Fr. Pierce, Fr. Aughney and the altar servers for the beautiful Mass of the Angels. We would also like to thank musician Leanne Cummins who captured Róisín’s spirit beautifully with the music. Thanks to John Walsh for his care and services.

Áine Lennon raises over €10,000 for Fighting Blindness
24 year old, Áine Lennon from Ballytiglea Borris, Co. Carlow raised over €10,000 for Irish charity Fighting Blindness. Áine has lost the sight in her left eye and has limited vision in her right eye and wanted to raise money for the charity.
Aine participated in the annual Paris2Nice cycle in September, where she cycled 700km in 6 days on a tandem piloted by Tom Metcalfe. On day 4 of the cycle Áine & Tom cycled up Mont Ventoux, which is the toughest mountain in the Tour de France. This is an amazing achievement, especially on a tandem!
As a newbie to cycling, taking on such a challenge involved a lot of training on a tandem bike. A local Carlow cyclist offered his time to pilot Áine for training spins and long distance cycles within the Leinster region. She is extremely thankful to him for not alone his time but his great cycling advice, support and friendship.
Áine, her family and people within the local community held lots of various fundraising events around the county and surrounding areas since March to raise money for Fighting Blindness, including a Truck Run, Gaelic Football Blitz, Cabaret nights, Fancy Dress night, bag packs and collections. A hugely rewarding aspect of Aine's challenge too, was raising awareness in local secondary schools about the charity and the day to day living of those affected by sight loss. Thank you to all who supported and helped out with Aine’s fundraisers and awareness talks or donated online or in person, your support is greatly appreciated.
Fighting Blindness is an Irish, patient-led charity that has been funding research into treatments and cures for conditions that cause sight loss since 1983. Fighting Blindness also provides a counselling service for individuals and families affected by sight loss.
Cure – Fighting Blindness promotes and facilitates the developments of treatments and cures, which are accessible to all patients affected by sight loss.
Support – Fighting Blindness supports those experiencing sight loss and their families.
Empower – Fighting Blindness works to empower patients.

Lotto: As we had no Newsletter over the Christmas period here are the lotto results for the last 3 draws. The Local Lotto Jackpot now stands at €13,450. Reserve Jackpot €10,000. The numbers drawn on 15.12.14 were 10, 14, 24 & 25 and there was no winner. Consolation winners of €30 each were Tracy Lyng, Kay Doyle, Nathan & Lorna Roche, Maureen O’Shea & Michael Bright. Bereavements: Graignamanagh GAA Club extends heartfelt sympathy to David Redmond & Lynda Ryan & Killian and their extended families on the tragic loss of their beautiful daughter & Sister Roisin. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time.
We also extend our Sympathy to The Randle Family Tinnahinch on the death of their mother Biddy Randle. May her soul rest in Peace.
Wheelbarrow Draw: Congratulations to Lorna Roche who was the lucky winner of the Wheelbarrow of drinks this year. Well done Lorna enjoy your prize. 2nd prize – Caroline Broaders, 3rd Prize – Louise Cosgrave, 4th Prize – James Cahill. Thanks to everyone who supported the draw and thank you very much to all the Publicans who allowed us to sell tickets in their premises over the Christmas and New Year. Thanks to Glanbia who sponsored the wheelbarrow again this year. All proceeds from the draw will go towards upgrading the boundary walls, entrance and improved parking facilities around our grounds. This project will be starting soon and we hope to have all works completed by the end of March. We hope to give more details here next week.
J J Kavanagh & Sons South Under 21B Championship final
No luck for our U21's as they fell to Dunnamaggin in the SB final 1.08 to 1.10. Graig led 1.05 to 03 at the break and were hurling strong. Both teams missed a number of scoring chances, unfortunately Dunnamaggin scored 1.07 to Graig's 03 in the 2nd half and that two point advantage was enough to see them through. It was a close encounter but unfortunately it didn't happen for us in the final half. We thank the players, trainer and selectors for their efforts.
