SOFTWARE SPECIFICATIONS:

3.  The server software shall be the Kelrad RDS System with the following data requirements:

INSTALLATION OF SERVER & SOFTWARE:

7.  Vendor shall install the specified server with software and a minimum of seven radio receivers with necessary antennas, hardware and cabling.

Bidder Questions and Responses

1. Question

Please advise the frequencies with FCC call signs for the 3 additional channels that will be utilized to expand the existing two channel conventional UHF system to a five channel UHF trunking system.

450 – 470 currently in 464.1 – 469.1 and 464.6 – 469.6

3 channels are applied for and pending through FCC

2. Question

Please advise the specifications for the GPS tracking system – data to be included? Start/stop/speed/door open/heading/idle time – frequency of updates/5 minutes/2 minutes – reports desired? – fencing required? – status updating?

3. Question

Although there is a statement in the request for proposal regarding 24/7 maintenance, I didn’t see a statement requiring back up power, nor is there a specification for lightning protection or grounding associated with the repeaters or base radios.

Answer

The tower site antenna location has auxiliary power supply. Additional grounding as required.

4. Question

Is there to be a requirement for GPS tracking for portable radios?

Answer

No requirement for GPS tracking for portable radios

5. Question

Has radio coverages been surveyed to assure adequate radio coverage for hald held radios within all school buildings?

Answer

Yes, the coverage is adequate

The successful contractor shall furnish all labor, tools, equipment, materials and supplies to perform the services as specified. All parts/materials and installation shall comply with applicable electrical codes as required by the authority having jurisdiction.

The successful contractor or his personnel shall not proceed with any work on district sites without the prior approval of the Police Chief or his designee.

The Police Chief or his designee shall decide all questions which may arise as to the quality and acceptability of any work performed under the contract. If, in the opinion of the director of the Police Department or his designee, performance becomes unsatisfactory, the district shall notify the contractor. The contractor shall have twenty-four (24) hours to remedy unsatisfactory performance.
