Summary of activities and dialogue emphasized during this meeting:
-Becca shared ideas for developing common assessments, both formative and summative. She shared a template and the group discussed ideas to consider when developing common assessments. The group also discussed ideas for analyzing assessment results
-Issues regarding resources and addressing student needs were also talked about and team members brainstormed ideas around strategies for providing interventions. It was decided that this conversation be tabled until teachers had time to develop common assessments and analyze the data.
-Grade level partners worked together to create common assessments for the current or upcoming math unit. The group came back together and shared as follows:
Third grade: regrouped indicators and rewrote essential questions and developed common assessments for a third grade geometry unit.
Fourth grade: unwrapped standards and looked at a measurement unit and supplements for the Investigations unit.
Fifth grade: looked at essential questions previously generated and looked at how Investigations curriculum aligns with the essential questions. They also looked at supplemental lessons provided in the fifth grade supplemental binder and began developing common formative assessments for the fifth grade geometry unit.
